It is a bug but not one you can avoid other than not trying to get a dog. Doesn’t happen every time but it does happen

This happens with the dog bone as well. I gave away a bone to someone and it disappeared instantly when they activated it

Yeah this has fucked me before. Getting got in teir 3 thinking no worries. I got my Boi. Not knowing he had spontaneously combusted earlier.

Sometimes this just happens. Don’t think anybody really knows the cause. Occassionally your hound just pops and that’s the end of it.

Nope dogs just die sometimes and nothing you can do about it
Mine tanked 2 mega bombs before just dying while I was sniping at a merc camp and it sat beside me
