Found this to add to my PS2 collection. Screw an all digital future.

There’s a discord server that has a decent amount of people for custom lobbies

The irony being if it was digital, you wouldn’t have to “find” it.

I still have Socom 3, a very good game even though I didn’t know how to play it correctly when I was a child.

  4. Didn’t this game come with a headset to give commands to your AI squad mates? Or am I thinking of a different SOCOM game on PS2?

I actually just found a whole box of my ps2 games most CIB I was looking up out of curiosity how much some of them were going for pretty crazy.

Man, SOCOM really got done dirty with the PSN outage. It really killed the SOCOM game that came out around that time, and then Sony shut down Zipper

Only played the original. Shit was awesome. Haven’t seen too many of those types either. Types, meaning “AI controlled allies with an option to input real-time commands as a shooter.”

There was Brothers in Arms, and I can’t think of any other ones.

  8. Socom! Oh My God what a classic, and my first taste of online multiplayer. Started back in the SOCOM 1 days. It was an absolute blast playing and finding people to play with, LOL we even had clans with no actual clan system. Fun times.

  9. This game was the shit. Ps2 was the last console I owned and I vividly remember the socom games on ps2. I was only like 11, maybe 10 but sneaking around SP-SP-SP then move the body out of the light. And the commands over your mic was like ground breaking tech it felt like 😆

I also recall there was a skin or something you got from completing the game on hard and if you had that online you were a hardass. Or young me thought so atleast, I worked hard for that.

Man I used to stay awake playing socom every summer day/night until my mom would be waking up for work. The good ol days lol, now have adult responsibilities =(

I never owned a PS2, so I own this game on my PC by way of roms and emulation…..sure not as good as a disc but how else can people play PS2 games in 2024 if they can’t find the games or the consoles?
