Embracer Group is weird… I mean, why buy up all the video game companies if you don’t want them making video games?

Didn’t even know another Deus game was being developed. Oh well.

Garbage move. They can redeem themselves by selling the ip. Last one was really cool it just needed more.

I love that Embracer has done more to destroy video game companies than EA ever could.

I just don’t understand what Embracer is doing. They want to save money, fine, but it was Eidos Montreal working on this Deus Ex game, the guys who did Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, as well as the recentish Guardians of the Galaxy game. Instead Eidos is refocusing on a project with an original IP.

How is that supposed to make sense? They’re giving up on an established IP made by the same people who made the previous two games which, despite all their issues, were quite well-received and, despite Square Enix’s fuckery, were fairly successful financially. What low effort piece of shit do they want Eidos to make instead?

there really should be laws made, so if u dont use an owned IP for x years other people can use them to make video games. i really fear how many beautiful universes will be stuck forever in nowhere once the embracer group’s dying carcass finally gives in…

Damn it. I really need this series to continue. CP77 was fine cyperpunk but Deus Ex has been the OG for me since Invisible War.

Speedrunning to bankruptcy. Deus Ex prequels had a ton of potential still, and they’re just shelving it and making even more layoffs.

There was a new Deus Ex in the making??? Damn. With all the AA and AAA crap going on. DE has always been a solid brand. First one is still the best though. Can’t be touched.

Redo in Unreal 5 and I am a happy schnitzel.

Isn’t there a trend of canceling big games for a tax write off or something? I can’t help but wonder…

Ridiculously sad. Mankind Divided is one of my all time favorite games, ever.

I’m surprised Embracer just hasn’t declared bankruptcy yet.  Seems like they close a studio/project a week for the last few months.  Piranha bytes was last week.

TimeSplitters and now Deus Ex are gone. Great. What else is going to get royally fucked up by incompetence.

Man, I hate that Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics were purchased by this shitty publisher. Each day I worry more and more that these two studios won’t survive being under this company.

This makes me mad. Fuck Embracer.

it’s kind of sad. when Embracer first became a thing, they were putting out some decent games for a megacorp.

then they went flop after flop after flop. Some I thought were good (like the Saints Row Reboot), but I know commercially there was a LOT of failure from so many games.

Considering they’re the ones that basically bought up THQ’s stuff, I guess history repeats itself.
