I burned out the fan on my GPU and eventually my computer melted playing this title.
ultrafop
Rule of thumb, Hassan…
joestaff
The modding tools for tiberian sun were better than the one for C&C 95.
Making subterranean engineers was hilariously OP.
AutomaticMan81
Hell yeah loved the series
DeadWrangler
Still have my CD-ROMS laying around. This and Red Alert!
Dysintegration
Best game in the series in my opinion.
Played online for YEARS and still get the occasional game in with my brother.
Rogueantics
I still have it somewhere
Gib_entertainment
Yup, whenever weather conditions cast light that is slightly yellowish it still makes me think, ion storm incoming!
celticfigz
Hope red alert 2 and tiberian sun eventually gets a remaster
BirdGooch
I never played it but I remember it being popular, saw a lot of people playing it on Xfire back in the day.
icxon
I did. The game felt a bit more in niche by the time I played it. All of my friend were playing Star Craft already when this one came out.
Humboldteffect
More of a red alert guy myself.
bathtubsplashes
My introduction to RTS!
And Yuri’s Revenge was my introduction to online multiplayer
pkk888
I even skipped school to play this on release day. Had to fetch it at my local games dealer. Good times!
Theamazing-rando
I still remember watching the “Bits” (quality UK programming) episode where they hyped this up and then playing the absolute shit out of it for the longest time. This, AoE2 and Generals, were my early rts loves.
Bastymuss_25
My favourite game in the series.
IN THE NAME OF KANE.
sW3796
I only played generals and zero hour
KABOUI
First game to ever own with my dad and brother! I remember watching the cutscenes, and not believing the “quality” as it seemed almost real 😅 (thought cutscenes were processed by the game engine, instead of just mov. clips lying in the folders)
csimonson
I liked setting up skirmishes and just build a fuckload of the long range artillery. Slowly move them to surround the enemy base, set them up and bring them to pound town.
EmptyBrainSpace
Best one. The goat
ant_of_the_sky
I loved this one and Renegade 😬😬
SilverNole85
Most definitely. I miss this era of gaming
ermahglerb
So many hours just screwing around on the practice matches. Mammoth vs Cyborg Commando, those units were so OP
ProtoPreservation
Yep! I still have it
Born2Burn4
Built a computer just to play this game.
AtomicTardigrade
One of best and most atmospheric strategy games with its futuristic dark vibe. I miss C&C so much and I especially miss voxel graphics. They gave these games such special and unique feel that 2D prior and polygonal 3D later never really captured.
lemouck
I did but i played more red alert (previous c&c).
OrionSouthernStar
I put so many hours into this game.
23trilobite
Played? PLAYED?!?! I WAS THERE WHEN THE DARK MAGIC WAS WRITTEN!!!! Stood in line at the shop, ran home faster than any Gump or Bolt could, harvested tiberium until my hands bled and my Wolverine had blisters on its feet!!!!
I LIVED THAT S#%T!!!!!
IsDinosaur
The last truly great game of its kind.
Seems to be a dead genre
Simonp862
Best childhood moment
Millsyboy84
This was perfection on my dial up.
ShoddySession9313
This goes right after GENERALS for me. I loved generals so much, but tiberian was my 2nd favorite.
downandnotout
ya know, there was a long period where I thought I had just dreamed this game up. I remembered it very vividly with the Titan walkers and the burrowing transports and tiberian beasts. I tried to talk to people about it when Red Alert would get brought up but for a really long period of my life I never met anyone who knew about Tiberian Sun. It was like a mendela effect thing.
Up until Warcraft 3 came out, this and Starcraft were my rts of choice.
Sjoerf
Waited forever on this game and it then after it came out barely played it. Was looking for more of the original c&c. Seems like I missed out.
Mesterjojo
Pretty sure we did back when. Can’t exactly recall becoming they were so similar. But I remember playing one of them a lot in 1999 at my friends house. We had the entire fucking house LANd up.
PsychologicalBig3540
Hotwire!
Jarl_Xar
One of the greatest
MeakerSE
One of my first to play online.
necro316
Would love this, firestorm and red alert 2 & yuris as a remaster.
I_suck_at_Blender
I loved *oppressively apocalyptic* atmosphere of this game.
Cyborgs? Mutants? Totally-not-Scientologists? Post~~nuclear~~Tiberian Wasteland? Guy from Terminator?
Picked up the Tiberian Sun battle Chest from Target. oh good times
Lcc96
Loved the hell out of this game along with Red Alert, very nostalgic for me and my brothers.
bloody_fart88
I miss westwood bruh…
BurroinaBarmah
“Our harvester is under attack”

WHAT DO YOU MEAN “PLAYED”. Playing it right now! Fantastic game. So glad there’s a community that got it working for Windows 11.
Tasty_Group_8207
Red alert was the very first game I ever installed, got it when it was brand new. Tiberian sun was my favorite, once and a while I still play general’s

They did *brown (and green)* before it was cool. I hope it will get nice remake like C&C1! [Mods are chef’s kiss good!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS-MmZ1fOuw)
