USB-C, USB-A, Micro USB, Mini USB, Mini HDMI, HDMI, DP, Mini DP, USB-C/with DP, RCA Audio, TRS, TRRS, XLR, Optical audio.
Things changed but really they don’t. Used to be a digital plug with cable was “get a cable, it’s 1s and 0s”, but now cables actually have to be properly made. A HDMI 1.4 cable won’t be able to do the proper bitrates for HDMI 2.1, causing tons of errors.
Peeps have different shaped problems nowadays.

I get unironically peeved when I see new mobos or electronic device that doesn’t have an optical cable output.
Idc there are more “seamless” methods these days. I want my high bandwidth audio damnit.
Plus if I am using a receiver and studio reference speakers you best believe I am going to use optical.
Hell my speakers only have optical or RCA inputs. So if see a mobo that doesn’t have optical I legit won’t buy it.

a little disappointed they have a DVI-I but not a DVI-D, USB 3.0 A is a thing already so this is a fairly dated picture.
missing so many ports. mini/micro HDMI, mini/micro/c usb, BNC, apple 30 pin, lighting, SCART, and my personal favorite obscure port DB13W3.
Probably more, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

To be honest, this is exactly why I as a 17 year old love old computers and technology. The immense amount of diversity in standards from that era is incredible. Today theres still a lot, but if youre using modern tech in some cases you dont need more than USB. Having all devices use one port is great, an amazing concept really, but it does take the fun out of certain parts of it.
