Who cares we may finally get good games now

  2. Denaviro

Every studio Microsoft buys, is another free game on game pass. So I’m not complaining

Why should we stop cheering ?

Because they cancelled a game in development limbo ? 6 years and still being 3 years from market for a Survival game is a project that needs axing. We all know it.

If the acquisition DIDN’T go through, it would have been a lot worse. Y’all need to stop acting like this happened in a vacuum.

  5. Geeekaaay

To be fair? After Redfall Microsoft new they had a quality control problem. Diablo 4 just proved Blizzard was just as bad if not worse than Bethesda for quality.

Gutting Overwatch 2 (its just reskinned Overwatch 1 now) bumbling release and seasons in Diablo 4, wasting time on a survival game no one wanted just chasing trends, Blizzard has been dead and rotting from the inside for YEARS. House cleaning was entirely needed here.

It’s more, less butt touching we hoped for (and to fire bobby).

  7. one-eye-fox

I’m still cheering. Actiblizz are trash.

  8. ilovefatttrees

Microsoft is corporate evil. Activision is just evil people.

  9. DeadStringScrolls

Which people exactly? Blizzard spent years resting on their laurels as a highly regarded game company, but I doubt anyone who thought about it felt like this acquisition was going to be a good move for Blizzard fans or their products.

Wasn’t that the point? That management was shit?

  11. Shmimbadad

Blizzard is now owned by the company that recently produced the best RTS I’ve played in ages (Age of Empires 4), and is still dropping new content for an all time great classic (AOE2). That means that Warcraft 4 is at least a little bit more likely to happen than it was before. That’s all I care about at this point, regarding Blizzard.

    “wow is better!”
    “ESO is better!!”

    Microscoft “MUAHAHAHAH”

  13. wellbreastfed

Sorry I’m struggling to remember a blizzard game I can’t live without

  14. Imaginary_Land1919

Yeah Microsoft was buying the IP, not the developers. Not sure if Blizz had any talented devs left anyways

  15. This sounds dangerously close to Stockholm Syndrome.

It’s was sustainably bad and people probably are afraid of change.
.well, it was steadily going to (more) shit. New management is welcome.

  16. LestHeBeNamedSilver

Imo they’re just removing all the bloat. They should honestly do the same with Bethesda

  17. FuckSpez6757

Had to lay off all the Bobby dick riders

  18. ImmediateDay5137

Metzen is back now guys everything will change…

  19. plundergun

The inexperienced cheered. The old breed sighed and opened Steam Store.

  20. LubieRZca

And we still will, because there must be some changes made in order to shake things up and that needs sacrifices, even radical ones like firing that amount of people.

  21. Chakramer

All tech companies over hired during covid and are just leveling out.

It really sucks for the employees but I’m not surprised they sacked a chunk of sledgehammer which made the worst CoD game in a long time.

  22. Melodias3

Sucks that people lose their jobs, but should not forgot what all happened at Activision Blizzard, we all knew this was coming.

  23. I already don’t play their games anymore so the way I see it, it can’t get any worse and it might get better.

  24. FlingFlamBlam

I mean, as shitty as it is it’s still an improvement. Kotick could have conceivably done worse. We’ve gone from employees killing themselves to employees getting fired.

The next step is for employees at Acti-Blizz, and every other game studio, to unionize to improve workplace protections.
