The year is 2009, and you just got home from school and are waiting for the boys.

And here I am like a chump in 1995 standing in front of this Tekken 2 machine where any random strange girl could talk to me.

  2. I was everything bad about that game, One Man Army noobtuber + spawn tubing, akimbo 1887s, etc. haha i am sorry.

  3. The load up time from switching the console on to getting in a match was elite

Gods, what a toxic shit show those lobbies were. It was like just walking into an ongoing bar brawl, and choosing to swing your fist at the nearest person.

I miss it sometimes. Also, sorry for sleeping with so many people’s moms.

    Sincerely,

I’m not waiting on the boys . I’m 32 drunk and playing nothing but free for all and winning a lot .

I was 6 and my brother was 7. My dad is also playing games so thanks to him i grew up with great games such as COD,Half Life 2 , CS Source etc., Finished the missions together though at that time we didn’t understand nor speak english. I have one memory where it was my turn to play and we were playing multiplayer(It was on PC so no split screen) After i got a kill everything was unlocked. We thought we did something great lol, little us didn’t know it was for we getting to max level

No sbmm/eomm, just may the best man win. No clowns running around, jut clowns on the mic. And run n gun, not super sprint, cartwheel into world record jump then bunnyhop.

We used to have a group of us at work who used to really put the hours in on this. I rarely play online shooters but loved the online play with 5 other friends. I was 21 at the time and rarely worked more than 40 hours a week, so had the time. Great memories.

When COD was COD, people lined up for this game. Different times.

  12. Start with team deathmatch then move into search and destroy.

When you would win 1v4 and everyone else in the games mics turned on at the same time. It was insane.

Between MW2 with the boys and Halo 3 custom games, I miss those days. Things were a lot easier back then, even with 2008 on the horizon and happening. I miss it.

Man what a game that was back then. When the UI was actually nice to look at and made sense from the get go.

On the one hand I feel like I missed out on a lot of mainstream nostalgia by not having internet for online gaming for *most* of my young/teen life, and as such never really got into Halo and COD.

On the other hand, I never became a Halo or COD fanboy, so I think it balances things out.

Wow, I got sad much earlier today than I expected!

  17. JustaNormalpersonig

they need to get rid of the netflix menu they have now in cod

  18. Man, I wonder how many Redditors that are nostalgic for this post were the prepubescent kids who would scream obscenities in the lobbies and make the game insufferable.

Would have been amazing if I wasn’t like, two years old

Learning how to trash talk in this game has put me about this younger generation in the world of talking shit. Younger kids don’t have the practice and will try to insult me with calling me the N word or some bullship like that. You think that hurts my feelings? There are so much better ways of talking down to someone, OG MW2 was my training program LOL

  21. QuiteAncientTrousers

The boys? I played alone lol.

No multiplayer experience will ever come close to this game again. I loved everything about it, the progression, maps, guns, everything was perfect for my personal taste and I hate how hackers took over the game and the remakes are so different. At least I enjoyed it A LOT

Man, I remember playing so much Halo and Call of Duty with my older brother and nephew when he was a kid back in the days. Good times. 😭

Was fucking hilarious when the nephew was playing with his friends and you can hear the other squeaky voice kids talking hahahaha.

    Loving MW 3 right now!

  23. pulseintempo

When shit talking wasn’t called toxic because nobody took things seriously and played games to have fun. Weakness is abound in lobbies now. Pathetic.
