Then a gain corpo V worked in intelligence iirc. Guess he’s seen and done enough dirt in his career.

This made me laugh more than it had any right to.

I hope they just focus on the one story for the next installment and not try to shoehorn in some superficial “customizations”. They wanted to tell V’s story, and V is clearly from Heywood, Night City born and bred. Part of what made the Witcher so good was we always knew we were Geralt. No need for the blank slate stuff.

To be fair we don’t know corpo V’s backstory.
Could be they started off on the street, got a ‘lucky’ break and ended up in Arasaka counter intel. It’s certain they were already close to Jackie, so they were at least exposed to the life as well.
Anyways, imagine them trying to work with fixers and having to admit “oh yeah, I worked for saka intelligence”.
Edit: apparently corpo V actually mentions growing up pretty well. Real fish and living near corpo plaza etc. the main take away from this is that I am justified in another play through to catch what I missed the last 7 times.

Corpo V always felt really full circle to me. Starts off being canned by Arasaka, only to have to return to save her/his life.

As someone who played the OG Cyberpunk 2020 RPG, I was a tad let down at how they did Corpo V’s storyline. Part of the big advantage being a Corpo is fighting the system from within and using your Corpo connections (and at times getting access to a Corpo line of credit to do your gigs with). They yanked that out from under V before he gets to do even 1 operation; not preem, chooms

I was thinking about this when you first go to vik and he says something along the lines of “in order to get to the top you need the best” or sum but I chose corpo v and was thinking wasn’t I already at the top?
ralphie561
Is v an orphan ?
ThePatrician25
Well, I was roleplaying that my Corpo V grew up as a Street Kid before being hired by Arasaka and that Jackie was basically her childhood friend.

That always bugged me. It’s a minor gripe but how does V go from being a corpo and with a little time skip suddenly is a street kid in lingo? It would make sense for V to still have that baked in corpo speak.
Victorius-aut-mortis
It’s funny how corpo V already knew jackie, but Street kid never met him until they got arrested
So it’s safe to assume that he was indeed street kid before becoming corpo

This was the worst parts about that game imo. Starting backgrounds made no difference at all.
Aspiegamer8745
That’s why I always pick the street kid background, the others do not make sense story wise.

I mean corpo V was basically a yes man for a clinical psychopath. They did a fair bit of dirty work before if not wet work(seem a bit disturbed or unsure about the assasination)
The street life working for fixers isn’t too much different. Plus they had Jackie to guide them
Charon711
My head canon is he’s similar to Takemura. Started off as a street kid and one way or another ended up getting pulled into the Corpo lifestyle.
