4 years in March 2024, nearly 4,000 buildings with 98% of them with full interiors and about 10 percent of them unique buildings with furnished interiors.

to add: Recently I decided to cut back on interiors detail, to expand exterior and extra detail, so the last 100 or so buildings have less, but still walls, stairs, lights
​
about 3,500 hours/145 days of playtime, started on 2/29/2020.

The entire region, is nearly 1,000 square kilometers, or 25,000 by 35,000 blocks not all seen as this is zoomed in. The finished city is only 20 (or 30sq km counting river/connected landscaping. Road network about 50-70sq km depending on how you would measure it

When done next decade, likely with help because so far its only me building it

Will have 2 notable cities, and a detailed map the size of Just Cause 2/3/4 in a Minecraft world,

I’ve never played Minecraft, is there a distance meter in the game?
I’m really curious how you measured it out if the scale is 1:1.
I admire the level of dedication done here. I’d be lucky that I’d make a half-decent village anymore. These days, I just take over the villages and live there, have gotten lazy.
I honestly thought I was looking at a GTA map or something, this is crazy!
Very nice. I worked at a science center a couple of years ago which was about cartography and geography. They have a Minecraft server where they loaded my whole country into it as a world and the idea is to recreate the whole of the Netherlands. The server is up for years and bit by bit the cities are taking shape.
Damn, I’d love to visit that world sometime!
