Delidded 7900x + TG Mycro after 3 months using standard paste. Pump out?

  1. Running this since Nov in a temp motherboard so didn’t want to faff about with LMG or PTM7950 until I got my proper board.

Weird coverage, even though I know I spread it evenly before I put the HS on.

    Paste is MX-4.

  2. 100% pump out as the IHS appears to have the same dry spots. Especially since you say you spread it manually, lots of overflown paste all around.

PTM7950 is your safest bet 100%. After curing it’s only a handful of degrees off liquid metal, lasts forever and has 0 risk of shorting it out.

While you wait for it, try MX-6. In my experience (two 5700XT GPUs and a few laptops) it’s much more resilient to pump out. MX-4 would go out in a few months, whereas MX-6 is running the same even one year later.

You really need to use Liquid Metal for direct die.
