I fastened a fan like this to my 7750 with “garden wire” from Poundland. Your rubber may not melt but with the heat will deteriorate much faster than at room temp, then it may just crumble or stick like glue, seen old rubber do both…

What happened to the old fan? Sometimes you can revive fans with a drop or two of oil, I just revived a Rosewill ARGB Rifle Bearing fan that was seized up.
But zip ties or long twist ties (just by cautious of the wire core) will last longer.

The melting point of rubber is 180 °C (356 °F), so no. It will probably just snap because of wear, which could be a risk if it ends up blocking the fan from turning.

I’ve seen a few people lately asking questions about a rubber band and another guy asked about zip ties. Just use a large paperclip and fashion a clip if you need to hold a fan in place without worrying about the longevity of it

Here’s my Evo212. You can probably do the exact same thing in your use case. Thread the zip tie up from the bottom through the veins of the cooler through the fan.
Don’t loop the zip tie back. Cut just the locking portion off of another zip tie and slide it down up against the fan body. You can pull the zip tie tighter in a straight line. Then just cut the tail off the first zip tie. Like I said in my other post, this has held for over 10 years.
