I’m watching gameplay of a game called [Cloudpunk](https://youtu.be/5y891t5q7K8?si=G47lhqsAwjzjflkJ) on youtube, and I feel so torn. It looks and sounds like such an interesting time and place to exist, but at the same time it’s actually literally hell.

Play Cloudpunk. There is nothing hellish about it, it’s very chill.

Enjoying stories about dystopias doesn’t mean you endorse them.

I think this is more normal than the people who are like “wow I wish I lived in a Cyberpunk world”

Cloudpunk (and the DLC is amazing) play it

Cyberpunk is founded on contrast, cognitive dissonance, and uneasy dichotomies.

This feeling is natural and emblematic of the genre.

Couldn’t you say the same thing about capitalism? I love having a home. I love having tech. But I hate privatization and monopolies even more. Medical debt. Fraudsters and thieves on the top getting rewarded. The degradation of the environment. All of it makes me sick. Yet, I can still sit down to a TV show, smoke a joint, and eat a bag of Doritos.

A lot of dystopia is the very system we live in currently. Just taken to more extremes.
