Yup. Ryzen 7 5700G, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3060… let’s play Fallout New Vegas… BUT LET’S MOD THE FUCK OUT OF IT AND GET 60 FPS.

  5. Looking at the Doom Speedrun strats only possible with 200fps…

Honestly, with me getting older, I have very strict taste in games, and such majority of new games don’t interest me.

  7. Finally, I can run Assassin’s Creed : Unity with Ultra settings on 720p.

I’m going through my backlog of games on my 3080. I’m finally playing Arkham Knight. At 4k and almost locked 120fps with settings maxed out, other than interactive smoke and interactive particles.

honestly one of the most taxing things you can do is load 100 graphics mods onto a 20 year old game that was optimized for like directx 8

  13. QlimaxUK

This is why I am considering buy not buying a 4060 to not replace my 1060

  14. Comprehensive-Run-71

Fallouy NV and 4 modded to hell but now above 60 fps at least

  15. Competitive-Hope981

This is exactly what I’m going to do too. I have mostly played games in 720p 30fps. I want to enjoy them again in (hopefully 4k) 100+

  16. danshakuimo

I always budget my next PC for 5-year-old games to keep it under $800CAD

  22. sandh035

Going from 30-40fps with my 6700k to 120fps on my 7800x3d was fucking awesome.

  25. Darahian

Can confirm. Bought new hardware. First thing to install was fallout 4. Not to forget old savegame files. The smell of freshly burnt supermutants never goes out of fashion… ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  26. KorenSolust

I feel seen by this, going from 2GB VRAM to 8GB years back was an eye-opener. xD

  27. PassmoreR77

remember when back in the day games ran without any sort of fps/cpu limiter so if you bought a newer computer the game engine would just speed up. I think GTA 2 suffered from this, and there was a fix to limit the fps?

  28. Ellanasss

Dude i can’t wait to play skyrim in vr with a shitton of mods. I got the Quest 3 wich Is really great, now i’m Just missing the PC because mine Is quite old. I have an i7 4790k lol and gtx 980ti. And no way to connect the head set since i lack the usbc port

  29. Drake0074

Half of these new games suck though so I’ll keep playing the classics.
