It always blows my mind that he came up with the cyberpunk setting in 1988. Like there were already “cyberpunk” (the genre) books at the time, but somehow Mike’s relatively obscure table top rpg game became the face of the genre. Probably because the fiction is just so god damn compelling and strong.
Also, I’m sure he has to be horrified about how much of cyberpunk has actually come true.

Kinda crazy how Pondsmith started Cyberpunk as a tabletop rpg back in 1988 and now it’s one of the most recognisable game in the world.
