Take them off for maximum grip. /s
dog_butt_swirls
Sometimes the skates have a thin plastic layer over them that need to be removed. I felt like an idiot when I realized that.
If your new skates don’t glide smoothly, they probably have the thin layer of plastic on them that you have to remove.
Remmes-
No, though it’s not uncommon for the feet to have a clear protective film on it that you can take off, you’d generally notice if that’s the case because it won’t glide as well.

I too hate that my mouse slides around my mouse mat.
Juice_231
If there’s a clear plastic overtop then yes but as long as the white stickers are the only piece leave them. Those are the pieces that reduce friction so that your mouse can slide around easier
New_Fee_887
You will ruin your mouse if you do that
ontelo
If you want to open your mouse or replace the skates, then. Otherwise not.
BCwastaken

They are mouse skates, I used to replace them after a hundred hours or so playing Counterstrike. As with everything, mileage will vary.

Answering to most of the comments, no, the color doesn’t matter at all.
I’m a Materials Engineering student, and basically none of the coloring that is added to polymers adds any different characteristics to it.
It probably has to do with the manufacturer, PTFE is white-ish or semi-transparent, so it might be cheaper for him not adding any coloring, again, there is probably one big ptfe mouse skates manufacturer, and as he might be providing most of the brands, the color is the same.
Hope my comment helped! 😀

Sometimes there is a transparent plastic cover to protect the mouse from getting pregnant
Chronos669
Take em off and find out is the only way you’ll get your answer
ptapobane
If it’s hard to take off, it’s probably not meant to be taken off
Fr00stee
they help the mouse move around on a mousepad, don’t take them off
Baman2099
You can do it once, it’ll clean all the lint off your mousepad. Then you have to get a new mouse and mousepad after
