Imagine how much easier driving in third person would be IRL, though.

When you drive uphill irl, can you see the car in front?
KayleeSinn
It’s even better with some cars. You dont have to look down and stare at the wheel either, you can look straight ahead. This was an issue in early versions of the game but it’s mostly fine now. Some cars have really narrow windows and long noses though but I don’t see what they can do with those.

Even when I’m driving a truck, I look more comfortable than in Cyberpunk.

It’s the field of view
SuperArppis
In this image you can see the angle takes 15% of your field of view.
BigBoss738
you have the monitor at 20 cm from the face, it’s not the same…
Ljutnja
It’s because a lot of the people that complain about driving in first person don’t drive.
javierhzo
Thats why I only 1st person on bikes.
Deepfake_theWorld
That’s not what driving in real life is like. A person’s FOV is much wider than that.

I’m pretty sure the title is facetious, but in case people seriously can’t tell the difference look at the horizon line in both images. Driving a typical vehicle in real life will put the horizon line approximately in the center of your field of vision. In contrast, we can see in the CP2077 screenshot that the horizon line is much lower, only half as much road is visible in comparison to the previous image.

No peripheral vision…
Cold_Soldier
In real life you arent looking through a screen at your dashboard. There is further distance between you and the wheel, the window, and the road. While I dont mind, I understand why people dont care for it. Other games with interior views allow a bit of a zoomed perspective so that your focus is the road and potential obsticles. CP2077 interior camera position is set further back and makes it difficult to see whats in your immediate vicinity.

There’s a big disconnect where in real life we can use our peripherals and mirrors in a first person view. Video game first person is *not* real first person, we have to look into a screen in front of us, it doesn’t translate. That and we heavily depend on mirrors for situation awareness which don’t work in game.
ShrimpAlfredo66
It’s hit or miss depending on the car and the weather. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to see on sunny days in certain cars.
ZealousidealAd7930
It’s very impressive how close they are getting to it looking real. Remarkable really.
Uberrancel
I got one working eye and I still see more irl over the view in game. It’s slower to turn and look at more for example as well.
sFAMINE
Driving in first person is great, just disable HUD and minimap. Needs a FOV adjuster
Shoddy_Expert8108
You can literally see the problem here… unless you as a driver just never check your side view mirrors. The FOV is way too little in Cyberpunk
virtualvagab0nd
Can’t move the head as one should when driving in real life. Which is why I prefer third person to first person.
And peripheral vision makes up for a lot of what isn’t seen in the RL pic of being inside a car. A person’s viewpoint is much wider than either of these shots.
iiFlaeqqq
Its that ONE car in Phantom Liberty that people are complaining about. Like, the only car in the game that you can’t see what’s in front of you
malandropist
I only drive bikes in this game
Diegolobox
first of all irl your view is not a 16:9 square away from you and then your head is free to move and thanks to this you have a much more detailed depth perception. this is a stupid comparison or a joke and I’m making myself look like an idiot by explaining these things (°_°)
theshekelcollector
it heavily depends on the model. some are fine, in others you are nostradamussin’.
Mrnameyface
The problem is that it’s not real life ☠️ their are other factors to be considered, most importantly 20+ years of gaming doing it a more natural feeling way

As someone who’s never driven cyberpunk scared me till I met this sub
