i love this game so much but it absolutely ruins immersion seeing this. i like to walk and ride the Ncart pretty much everywhere but the repeating NPC issue makes me turn off the game consistently. any mods to fix this? i cant seem to find any.

Don’t think so. But I’m with you, choom. Huge immersion-killer.

Honestly just pretend they’re one of those doppelganger gangs

Use the force Luke…I mean, use your imagination))) In Night City there are many people with completely synthetic bodies, maybe the same nps just like how they looks(body model) so they spent money on a new look, new body

  4. In a world where corporate influence is propagated thru just about every waking moment of life and experience, one can be certain that originality is rare, scarce, or extinct, thus perpetuating look-alikes and copies. IOW, we are what we consume, so ofcourse this happens if we all consume the same thing.

Lower crowd density? Idk if this actually helps but I think would be your only option to try.

If it gets annoying, I sometime just quicksave and reload to force the game to regenerate the npcs. Usually after loading they are all different.

I noticed this tends to happen most often when quickly traversing the city, as it makes the game load in new npcs and cars on a fast pace. And for reasons it starts making twins all over the place.

Whenever I see someone walk by and then see that exact same npc walk by, I just say, “Matrix”

I just ignored the clones that are feet away from one another, because it’s just a game engine thing likely

And I don’t see it often.

I kill all doppelgangers, in game. Gets pretty tedious when the frequently identical cops arrive.

Are you on PC? I’m sure there was mods on Nexus for adding a bunch of cut NPC models – there’s a lot.

    Turn HDD off in settings.

“On” duplicates NPCs to reduce lag while driving.

“Auto” switches between the two based on how many resources your computer is occupying at one given time.

I hope more people see this.

Honestly I think it’s down to your PC. When I played on my old rig (rx580 in a 12 year old pc) I had doppelgängers all over the place. Whole groups in The Afterlife were the same dude.

When I upgraded last month to a new gaming pc (7950x3d and Rx7900xtx) I only ever see them occasionally and they’re usually some distance apart.

I swear i barely had this issue but the update with the streaming pipeline change to get Mini map zoom also to old gen consoles (i believe it was 1.2?) caused this.

Before (on PC) i really had to look out for repeating NPC and found maybe 1 or 2. While it was already normal on consoles with even more repetitions. After 1.2 i constantly had that issue in crowded areas.

Yes. You gotta kill them with your katana and lay them on the ground like a tiny kleptopunk rosette. Then resist the feeling of your mouth beginning to water as the first rain cloud of the year passes over head.

    My carefully considered suggestion is:

I just remind myself that V’s brain is literally melting and that explains things like this or the driving.

Keeps things pretty immersive when you imagine it like that haha

I just think that their those people who always match or twins

I’ve killed Fred (the boxing guy) a few different times, And the first time I was very upset because I thought I had actually killed the Fred.

Turns out Fred is fine and it was just reusing NPCs

How often does it happen? I rarely see identical NPCs now. I don’t usually pay attention to them, but goddamn they were everywhere pre 2.0.

  20. They won’t be identical if one has no head, other has big hole in stomach and another one is burned to death. Just saying
