So my 980 Ti reference card is 70 degress while just idling, I just downloaded msi afterburner to check the values.

This is without having changed any settings to my graphics card obviously except nvidia settings. I wanted to try overclocking it a little but noticed the very high idle temp. Any idea what could be causing this?

May just be old paste not giving the heatsink any good contact, or the Fan Curve being abysmal.
