For example in this street there is these stairs that I saw in the video and never even knew about https://youtu.be/aXDous4m0d4pYLxYDZk5leP4l33?t=35m24s and the thing takes you completely under the city in this little alley really detailed that I never even knew existed https://youtu.be/aXDous4m0d4pYLxYDZk5leP4l33?t=38m36s and you end up in a totally different street
I find it so crazy the amount of work that went into creating this city it blows my mind, I mean every inch of this world is so detailed to a level I’ve never ever seen before in an open world, every single building has a unique and cool design and architecture, there isn’t one street that looks or feel similar, all the districts have such a different and cool style. Even a simple tunnel where most people will just drive through the thing in 2 seconds without ever looking at it, it’s still so damn detailed with holograms, weird pipes everywhere , graffitis on the walls and all that https://youtu.be/aXDous4m0d4pYLxYDZk5leP4l33?t=13m59s it’s insane when I look at this world every single frame on screen is so detailed that it feels like something that took 20 years to create

This is a great observation. I’ve always loved how dense the map is with detail. I’m currently doing all of the NCPD Scanner Hustles on motorcycle and taking my time to explore while I do. I almost feel like they could fit an entire second game on the map without reusing any of the existing locations.
There is a secret map of just random things you can find around the city that are not marked on the in-game map. Most times its a body with a Archived Conversation. But sometimes its a whole little scene laid out.
You can find other mercs. A guy who crashed one of El Capitans rides. The guy who ratted Corpo V out. A reality show. Old movie set. Dead journalist. Theres a lot!
This stretches through the game even in dialogue. So many details you can miss if you don’t pay attention to what’s being said.
Walking around Night City is a vibe, absolutely dense with detail.
Hopefully Orion will reuse the city, add some new things and make a lot more interiors accessible. It would be a shame to not expand on what they already have, the verticality possibilities would be insane.
I completed almost every single gig and the main quest in the original game, and never ran into Ozob Bozo or the quest where the guy is crucified or whatever.
Best one I’ve seen is big smoke and cj after failing the train mission
I walk almost everywhere since driving is such a miserable experience. However, the one time I was riding with River, we passed by a building on a street that had a giant hand painted memorial to Jackie Wells, and I couldn’t get out of the truck to check it out, and have no Idea what street it was on =(.
So much work and details went into making the city that is almost a shame there is only a single DLC and nothing more than the base game taking you places exploring it.
I love wandering around the city for that very reason. I’ve even found areas that make doing scanner hustles or gigs way easier, like little geographical rewards for exploring. There is so, so much detail just hidden away and it’s fantastic. It reminds me of the Dishonored series that way – a giant 3D puzzle you can play around in if you want.
I usually hate grinding in games, but I do it a lot in this game because I love walking around exploring the city and doing ncpd subcon missions. my last hard run I started konpeki at level 13 and had 50k in the bank AFTER paying off my debt to vik and maxing out chrome.
love walking around. found some trash corner in the game with some dude in the bottom with a legendary hack that was stressed out about getting kicked out of his home. i always find crazy stuff like that walking around.
I’ll have to remember this the next time I’m spamming air dash at Mach 2 while skimming off the tops of street signs and passing vehicles…
When I was doing one of the delamain missions (the one with the flamingos) I stumbled across a house with some dead bodies in the front yard. It seemed like some kinda drug deal gone bad based off the shards I found/read. I told myself I’d come back to see if there was more to it than that, but I haven’t given the whole house a proper examination yet since it’s easy to get distracted by other stuff in this game. There did seem to be a drug lab or something there, but like I said I didn’t investigate much beyond that. Lots of little stuff like that *everywhere* in this game.
That’s why I drive through the streets like a true cyberpsycho 😎
Yea I run and fast travel, the world feels amazing.
I get side tracked 9/10 runs to the fast travel terminal.
Yep…I mean gta5 is the same. I bet if I started walking places I would find stuff I had never seen before. A hallmark of a good open world game. RDR2 has them as well but because of the nature of the game its all in the wild.. so you have to be lucky to stumble across many of the easter eggs there. RDR2 devotes a lot of its open world development into its nature simulation.
That’s what I’ve been doing since the patch because it’s free stamina to run around. I almost never use fast travel, I’ll drive longer distances. I have found a ton of new stuff even after 300 hours in the game world.
This open world cdpr created is truly fascinating. It’s probably the only open world game where I purposefully avoided using fast travel.
Yeah I like how you get rewarded for exploring too.
Today I was casually walking to go beat up that asshole who drops the O’Five iconic rifle, and came across a robot and two drones guarding a door on a street corner. Never seen that before. Robot told me to move along, so I did. Been playing since day 1, never saw that before. City is full of all kinds of wacky stuff that gives it character. It’s great.
I remember one time I found a music video set where everyone got murdered. I still have no idea where I found that.
Soo… just like in real life. There is one country where people wouldn’t find it obvious.
I was in Dog Town, there were some NPC’s conversing, and then one of them shouts, “WTF!” Then BOOM! The van they were standing next to explodes. Not sure what happened, no shards, no clues etc. they just all exploded and died.
I found entire buildings with working elevators and all sorts of stuff on my third playthrough. Unfortunately there wasn’t much to do in there other than marvel at it
I heard that they hired architects to make night city as genuine as possible, no idea how true it is
I never drove in my first playthrough. Walked and jumped everywhere. I never got the complaint that the city was dead and empty.
Have a drive around the badlands off road there’s all sorts to find in the middle of nowhere.
This is why I stopped driving and use the dodge jump vehicle. I’m enjoying the graphics on my 4090 especially since I haven’t played the game since 1.5.
In my last playthrough I committed to just exploring on my way to objectives less than a kilometer away using double jump and air dash, using fast travel minimally. Made for great exploration of things I missed in the past.
