Chrome has had this message for extensions code running too long forever. It’s not “NOW”. Chrome knows when it gives control to an extension and then when it takes back control. If that period of time is long, it’ll trigger this warning.
I switched completely over to Firefox, which has no issues running Ublock Origin.
Malicious ads are one of the main ways malware gets on computers. It’s unsafe to run a browser without an ad blocker.
SoRaang
Yeah, right. I’ll using Firefox.
Tesser_Wolf
Google is only hurting themselves at this point. People will find away around what they do and push away chrome.

I’ll overclock my Pc before I’ll endure those god dammed ads.

I don’t use chrome, it’s so sad the lengths Google is going to “stop” people from using adblockers it’s hilarious.

Ok great, go Firefox than. Been using it since 2013. 0 issues, ever. Period.

Adblock was making YouTube unwatchable on chrome. Got rid of it for another one and it’s fine now. When they inevitably change the code to make mine slow again, I’ll switch to another.

Stop using Chrome?
FeedMeYourMemes14
If turn on AV1 decoding and chrome’s high efficiency mode. You won’t notice a thing.
CNR_07
If you’re using Chrome as your primary browser what are you even doing?

Not for me. I use uBlock Origin and never saw that message.
Oh, and the newest version of uBlock Origin is 1.55.0 and not 1.54.0

I abandoned everything google a few months ago. Firefox took a little getting used to, but it’s the last none-chromium browser. Best choice ever.
Lord_Snow77
Maybe if there weren’t more ads than content on websites we wouldn’t have to use adblockers. I wouldn’t mind if it was just an ad or two but when I can’t read something without passing 15 fucking ads it gets annoying real quick.
opinionate_rooster
Well, Chrome is slowing your PC down.

I’ll probably get downvoted to hell for saying this. YouTube didn’t slow down for people with ad blockers. The ad blockers had a bug that caused them to make websites load slower. That’s probably also why you’re getting this alert.
Evil_Kittie
technically a adbocker does slow down things, but there is a net time and power savings by not loading the blocked junk

I actually switched to Firefox last night because fucking Chrome with YouTube opened, no videos playing was using 30% of my CPU and 3GB of ram.
Fuck that shit. I’m not giving up on my ad blockers. And YouTube was lagging like crazy for the past week or so.
So far, it’s smooth as fuck on Firefox. Transfered all my shit from chrome and uninstalled it.

I’d rather browse on a toothbrush than on chrome without ublock/ adblocker

Use Firefox. It saved the internet from the IE, it can save it from Chrome.
