First post. This is a highdea, and wanted to share it with others that might appreciate it.

I’ve always been fascinated with Kowloon Walled City. As long as I can remember, I have imagined what it might have been like had KWC never been demolished, or what it might be like in a dystopian future. It always struck me as almost a living organism, with endless interconnectedness.

What if KWC could be created in a VR space? It’s an unbelievably ambitious project and would probably require the collaboration of many nerds, artists, and well-trained AI tools.

(Third photo is apparently an arcade in Japan designed in the style of KWC).

I would love that. As pricey and time consuming as it would be, it’s totally doable. Just recently, late 2023, Students and Architect Moshe Safdie created the whole Habitat 67 in Unreal Engine 5 – so we could experience what was never build in this form and reduced due to financial problems.

just my opinion, i think it’s a great idea to do as proceduraly generated sections. i have no idea what the entirety looked like in it’s original form, but laying out sections as if it were a maze it a great idea, and a very cool setting for many different types of games. not just cyberpunk.
