as the title implies i have a 2060 (second hand) that will artefact big time at idle and is not playable unless i set the core clock to -502. – 502 is the closest i can get stable and it will play everything ive thrown at it just fine, i was wondering if an OC can be save to the board and someone just messed up and if i just need to reset it, when i received the card it was extremely clean came with the pin savers and from eye examination never even looked like it had been installed. (pristine condition) any advice welcome

A gpu overclock is applied each time you start the overclocking software and not the software. What you describe sounds like a failing gpu.
No, it’s not possible to save an overclock of a GPU to the bios or vbios.
To solve your problem:
The artifacts are a result of too little voltage at a given frequency. Underclocking fixes this but will result in worse performance. There is another way to fix this, by giving more voltage at the stock frequency.

May I know your idle temp? Mine is 50c after I screwed up in changing the pads. Now i can’t play games because it’ll shot up to max temp.
