Do you think Cyberpunk Orion should have cutscenes or keep it without it just like CP 2077?

No cutscenes. A relentless fucking experience.

If you can’t really make decisions in those parts I’d prefer cut-scenes. There’s more options for better framing/blocking to improve the visual aesthetic and I’d like more opportunities to see my character/outfits. It might break immersion for some but for me no more that going 3rd person when driving. They’ve already created insane cinematics for the trailers, so they know how to make it look good.

I would like some scenes that show me my character. I beat this game when it first came out and I remember thinking “who the fuck is that dumb ass looking weirdo with panam” at one of the endings. Mirrors didn’t work back then, all I saw was a shaved head and some dick and balls whenever I tried to use one.

This is most likely not a common opinion but I find third person mocap cutscenes with realistic animations, body movements, clever camera work and direction to be way more immersive than me controlling my character in first person while the other character goes about explaining their stuff. I am even fine with pre-rendered CGI cutscenes tbh.

Dude. Id take cutscenes like the one above any day.

God, I wish this is how the game really was.

There needs to be more 3rd person if there is such an emphasis on character customization. Whether the best way to do that is cutscenes that arent 1st person idk.

  7. CHEEZE_BAGS

Keep it as is, it was perfect and just so immersive. I felt like I was there the whole time.

  8. ProfileSafe2677

Nahh all it needs are more cinematic first person sequences/scenes like PL!

Cutscenes. Third person while they’re at it. I’m so tired of first person being used in RPGs for “immersion,” but it’s especially bad here. V is a pre-established character with a distinct personality, not an avatar.

Cutscenes all the way, i wanna see my protagonist

I’d like of the game was fps gameplay, like 2077; but show situations and discussions in 3rd person, like The Witcher 3 does.

That would be perfect. There’s already plenty of spots in 2077 that would have been perfect for it, such as when confronting Hellman in the hotel.

That scene done in the Witcher cinematic style. That’s what I mean.

I suspect what people want is new tech and weapons and a fresh story with some extra locations and names friends. So no.

They don’t really need to do anything different with style and direction – I think we all just want more of what the main game did and PL improved upon – better and more varied combat, skills, talents, and another great story with great VA and characters.

Like they did a winning formula with the main game and PL is imo an improvement in every way – just make another one.

Nope, I love that you never lose control of V during conversations. I’m free to position myself wherever I want for the best view, and if the conversation is dull I might get distracted by something else in the room. I think it works really well for a first person game which works really hard to immerse you in the world.

More cinematic games definitely still need cutscenes, so I’m not one of those people who hates them or something. I’m playing Alan Wake 2 right now, and it’s amazing. It’s also like 70% gameplay and 30% cutscene, and that’s perfect for a game that is more like an interactive movie.

No cut scenes, please… I find it immersion breaking when first person games switch to third person for cut scenes. Not only does Cyberpunk get it right, but they elevate the experience even further allowing freedom of movement. It’s so satisfying being able to look out the window while riding in a car, and not being locked into staring at the driver’s face.

Another problem for me is that often I find cinematography in games to be clunky. Instead of leveraging the freedom the medium allows too many companies tend to just mimic the movie industry. Admittedly, it might be a personal quirk but I find myself distracted by bad camera work. Especially when it’s painfully derivative.

  16. It can be just as immersive with minimal cutscenes, comments are trippin, I need to see my customized player more often idgaf. Makes customization feel useless.

Cyberpunk 2 should absolutely have cutscenes.

Games where my custom character can actually be seen talking and interacting via cutscenes help cement my character as feeling part of the world, not just an avatar of my will. Love them or hate them, but Dragon Age: Inquisition and Fallout 4 are the best games for this. My character feels like an actual person in that world because i can actually see them interacting with people the way the NPCs interact with me. It’s one reason I was kinda disappointed to see that Baldur’s Gate 3 gives your character a voice, but only outside of dialog where it doesn’t actually matter. Seeing all the other NPCs speak while you deliver lines via silent telepathy is weird.

It doesn’t really break immersion either. I’ve never played a game where a cutscene started and I was like “damn now I’m reminded I’m playing a video game”. Nah, i’m still immersed and watching the events unfold.

  18. cutscenes. no point in character customization if you can only see ur char in the inventory menu. so dumb.

  19. Uncle_Jeff_

Johnny was supposed to be alive? Wonder how that would have played out…

  20. enchiladasundae

You gotta stop abbreviating it like that

  21. SomeMasked

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I think few cutscenes would work well. Intro scenes as you come into a new chapter of the main story (going from act 1 to act 2 for example. As well as the prologue and ending cutscenes. Allow you to see your character those few times to set up, before going right back to the first person gameplay. Otherwise, no cutscenes throughout the game as is in 2077.

  22. RobbbRocker91

A bit of both I would definitely love to see my character given as i just love customizing them with clothes

  23. fingerpaintswithpoop

Cutscenes. There is no point in character customization if you can’t see your character outside of very specific circumstances like photo mode, looking in the bathroom mirror and the end cinematic.

Definitely *don’t* make it cutscene heavy like Spider-Man 2, just sprinkle in a couple for the odd story mission when it fits.

  24. UPM_Herobrine

    Cutscenes 100%
It would be a good way to add a different style of life to the game.

  25. DyroReads23

Yes, there’s no point in making a customizable character if i hardly ever see it.

  26. Useful-Soup8161

I would love cut scenes and a 3rd person option. I took me way too long to realize this one didn’t have a 3rd person option.

  27. NotPresidentChump

I just still want that game they demoed back then.

  28. Jediknight0341

Yes, please, whats the point of customizing your character if you can’t see them

  29. ultimaweapon79

I’ll take it a step further, I think the entire game should be in 3rd person. I’ve never found 1st person to be immersive, irl I don’t need to turn my whole body to look around, I can turn my head without the need to turn my body, and what’s the point of having a customized character if I never see them

  30. Android-Alexis

Yes, cuz not everyone spends enough (if any) time in photo mode to justify giving a fuck about the creation suite in a first-person shooter. Honestly, for a lot of people it’s riddled down to who do we wanna be able to fuck in this playthrough. You might as well made everyone pan and asked the player “masc of femme V?”

  31. CannonCROW95

Cutscenes would be better. As much as I like being right there in the thick of it and in the moment. A handful of cutscenes wouldn’t hurt it.
