Bought some 12600 KF from Newegg, this is what I receive. Is this normal? Seal hasn’t been opened

    Is it normal for intel?

    No.

Is it normal for Newegg? Unfortunately yes.

  2. In my experience the intel seal stickers peel extremely easy. I’ve been able to peel the sticker without damaging the blue box underneath on multiple chips I’ve purchased. I would definitely return. I hope those were sold and shipped by Newegg.

I’ve come across like three or four posts in the last 30 days that raise concerns about buying cpus, with issues ranging from swapped integrated heat spreaders or even entirely different CPUs. It’s reminiscent of the kind of uncertainty one might associate with buying “Authentic” autographs on eBay, not good. Ive bought a 12700K before, there should be a cardboard that holds the cpu in place along with booklet with a sticker on it.

Takes a considerable amount of force to dislodge that plastic tray and thats without a cpu in it, maybe it was packaged that way or pushed hard on, which the video kind of shows that? Either way, Im gonna go with what Capital Average said, it stinks.

Amazon and new egg. Worst two places on the internet to buy electronics.

yes its normal, and they should be fine

My 14900k box looked the same got it from Canada computers

no intel has a nice way of keeping the cpu secure. I like it more then my old 5950x box and security. Yours is missing. could be a returned product?

  8. cirebeye

Usually there’s a cardboard piece in there that holds the cpu in place and up against the window.

Are those not supposed to have coolers?

I stopped trusting NewEgg ages ago.

Salt in the wound: they censor reviews.

Sorry this happened to you, but I hope you’re able to get your money back and the issue sorted!

Mine was like that from bestbuy. I don’t think it’s supposed to be like that but seems more common lately.

My 13700k came like that but it worked fine

Contents May Have Shifted During Shipment.

  14. I work at a PC retail store, it’s fairly common for the plastic CPU enclosure to fall out of the cardboard insert. Even the sticker that seals the box close can come loose.

  15. henryjhost

Yes, it’s somewhat common. Intel seems to have fixed it with newer gens. I worked at Micro Center as a cashier and we would occasionally get boxes of sealed CPUs like this.

I received one like this from amazon

  17. Newegg has been shit since it was bough out by a Chinese company. Avoid it.

  18. Trying-to-buildpc

Thanks all for your reply. I did open up one. There is a cardboard but it’s ‘loose’. Probably the CPU dropped off some time before delivered to me.

I wouldn’t trust my money with that. I would return it under the assumption that it’s been opened. If it hasn’t, then Intel made a mistake at the factory packaging it and that’s still not your problem.

Why does people keep buying from Newegg. A this point they kinda deserve it

  21. bobtheburrito

wtf does anyone buy from Newegg still? Was great like 20 years ago and got worse ever since.

  22. NoShock8442

Some of y’all worry about the dumbest shit

  23. Electronic_Parfait36

What you are hearing is just a loose blister pack in a cardboard box.

This is Tiktok brain invading reddit. There is no pins to get bent in the plastic sleeve, and if the die or IHS got damaged, no packaging difference would change that.

If you upvote this shit, you are literally cancer.

Muppets still dumb enough to support scammers 💀 never will gain my sympathy
