I bought a 360 AIO with the intention of mounting the radiator at the top of the case. Unfortunately the RAM and Motherboard heatsinks interfere. The smart thing to do would have been to use an air cooler, but that interferes with the vertical GPU mount. Form over function everyone.

While i understand you have no choice, this is the worst possible way of setting up your AIO. And will most likely affect the longevity of your AIO pump. Possibly even break it quite fast.

~~I strongly suggest you return the AIO, take that vertical mount out, and put a good air cooler in.~~

~~EDIT: whopsies, didn’t notice the sidepanel cooler / fan slot~~ [~~Greasy_donerkebab~~](https://www.reddit.com/user/Greasy_donerkebab/) ~~suggested of using. That is the best course of action if air cooler is not an option.~~

EDIT2: Apparently there is even a better solution as described by [mizka900](https://www.reddit.com/user/mizka900/) that we didn’t know about when the post was originally made by OP 12 hours ago. *”Lian li already has the solution for this exact case when its used in ATX config* [*https://lian-li.com/product/rb-001/*](https://lian-li.com/product/rb-001/) *That is the real way to mount the rad to the ceiling.”*

Just get a 240 aio and mount it vertically just to the right of the motherboard.

  3. rocketracer111

There are plates to dislocate the rad in the top to still have it mount in the top

I found some offsets on etsy.

There should be some by EK aswell

But 240 aio is a valid alternative.

    Edit:
__Thanks to u/LyKosa91 for reminding us [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/s/Vf20Cgfvtj) of the Lian Li Bracket RB-001__
    > _Lian li make their own offset brackets, I use them in my 011 mini. They’re called RB-001_

    Well that pump is dead.

Now we need all the peeps with “WRONG AIO MOUNT!”, not on threads where it’s properly mounted. Where are they all ?

Also the smart thing to do would have been to measure first.

Or just mount the GPU horizontally? The GPU doesn’t look anything particularly fancy, so why prioritise showing it off?

Alternatively, couldn’t you just get a 240mm AIO and mount it next to the motherboard, if that’s where the intake is (hard to tell)?

  6. Is this an O11 mini? If so, you can still mount the 360 up top, but it requires additional offset mounting brackets. I ordered mine off of aliexpress or you can find 3rd party ones on ebay/etsy.

  7. Mount that bitch to the outside of the top lol.

  8. kidnamedkev

This is the one way that‘s actually bad…

  9. You literally have a space to use a smaller AIO on the side yet you were dumb enough to use it on bottom where that AIO will be lucky if it survives 2 years

  10. Novel_Yam_1034

Just flip the pc upside down and you’ll be fine.

  11. distinguisheditch

form over function i guess 🤷‍♂️

  12. BlueMetalDragon

I really don’t get the “vertical GPU” thing.

  13. Greentaboo

    >AIO mounting guarantees pump death

    >GPU sucking on preheated cpu air

    >no additional intake fans

This isn’t even suboptimal, its just bad and wrong. A 280/240 cooler could fit on the side panel, letting you blast the gpu with fresh intake, you could probably make the 360 fit on the top, there are definitely 3rd party plates that solve this issue. Cheaper than a dead AIO.

At this point sit the pc on it’s face, the configuation would make more sense at least.

I don’t think I fully understand the gravity of the concerns here …

  15. CiraKazanari

Going to discover what cavitation is sooner than later

  16. TemporalOnline

    And the aio going:

    glug! glug! glug! glug! glug!

  17. Cipher-i-entity

At that point, I would just have the AIO unattached and vertically leaning on the side panel or something. Anything but that.

  18. NGL, i’m way more annoyed by the low end GPU in a build where the case and AiO probably cost more.

  19. nofuture9191

    I don’t think it will…

Oh, nevermind, good job, young boy. good job.

  20. Trustyduck

That’s a nice air pump you have there…

    AAAAAAND it’s gone.

  21. TheBugThatsSnug

Can you remove the front top fan and move the aio to that side insert?

  22. LightChaos74

You can “own them” all you want but have fun buying a new cooler *significantly* sooner

  23. Apprehensive-Read989

More like AIO pumps hate this one trick.

  24. GammaTwoPointTwo

The vertical GPU mount looks terrible and in this configuration is causing actual problems. Not only is it burning the AIO but the GPU mount is also blocking the AIO and the GPU airflow.

This might be the worst build posted in a while 🙂

  25. High point should not be the pump. It will kill itself pumping bubbles.
