If you’re not using them for mmo/moba’s or the like then that’s why they feel weird.

I started using it for wow, now for pretty much any game. Any game that binds to number keys. I can’t play worth crap without the side buttons now.

To be honest my side buttons end up replacing my hot keys, 1-10 and then another button ends up being my crouch or hold breath for shooter games

I play with the Razer naga classic and use all 12 of the buttons. Thing changed my life when it came to gaming.

I genuinely wish there are more mice choices with more than 12 side buttons. 20 hotkeys on keyboard + 12 side button is barely enough for some mmos in combat, let alone additional social binds.

I use a Logitech G604 which has 6 side buttons. I really love it, I usually use 5 of 6 (one of them is funky for my thumb) plus 2 extra on top and honestly it’s more useful in desktop work than in games. On desktop, it’s mainly a combination of keyboard shortcuts, media controls, and the occasional AHK script. I don’t actually play MMOs/MOBAs so take that for what its worth.

Mine has 16. I use 10 of them for numbers, four for arrow keys, esc, and enter. I also have an extra mouse button on top that I use for secondary attacks if the game has them.

The mouse was crap otherwise though and broke in under a year.
