Why the hell do I have to plug this wireless router in? Don’t you understand what wireless means?

  2. blackest-Knight

Why is the IT guy an animal though ? Like are you trying to say IT people aren’t human ?

  3. officiallyzoneboy

Don’t forget the smart guy plugging in his router to the switch 🤣🤣🤣 “I need my own privacy”

  4. ripnburn69

I got paid a housecall to turn a power strip back on once.

Nothing says hours of fun like switching the monitor cables of the row behind you.

We used to swap VGA cables for the lab computers for hours of fun.

It only gets worse the deeper into the sector you go. I’m in cybersecurity and some of the interactions rival these 100 fold.

Oh believe me, these people will be around no matter what profession or hobby you choose. I’m a car mechanic, meddled in IT for a bit, know how to DIY many things, do photography as a hobby… Doesn’t matter, there are always people like this.

I once had a woman call me about making her desktop turn on so she could check when the power would come back on.

I once had to tell a guy that his password was “Password with a capital *P*”.

He just scoffed and said something like “F-ing computers!🙄”

Once I was a substitute for an IT guy, I realized how useless and stupid people are, we really live in a world where we all use incredibly advanced technological tools, but nobody cares how they work. I would dare to say that a 7 year old kid could do the work of a whole office and in less time. That’s not counting other optimizations. I guess inefficiency caused by uneducated people is the price to pay for society not to collapse xd

IT guy: “Have you tried restarting the computer”

Tech impaired person: “why would that help”

IT guy’s inner thoughts: “JUST DO IT!!!”

Wellllll… I’m not an expert but I’m almost sure wind actually can disrupt WiFi Signal. The router creates an electromagnetic field which is basically small charges (Electrons) travelling through matter (Ex: air). If the matter moves too much, the charges, which in this case are small, will have a hard time jumping molecules efficiently which will generate more losses.

Had an exec have issues constantly. Top two where; they plugged the USB mouse into the Ethernet jack. And, they kicked up a storm about their monitor not working when it was just turned off…

Best advice for those in help/support desk, learn networking, infrastructure, automation and cloud services. H3lls, even understanding AI prompts now will land you a good job away from that nightmare. 🍻

As someone that works in IT, this is so accurate that it hurts

Developer – Helpdesk interactions are always nice…
Dev: “pls can you guys do this really quick?”
It: “we don’t have permission, pls open a ticket and we forward it”
Dev: “i don’t make a ticket and wait a week, i was just asking nicely, i can also give myself permission and do it on my own… i just got told you guys dislike it when i do this”

In technical school teacher said one smart thing to us:

“You can’t make the network too reliable because you will be sitting there doing nothing, because it all works, so they will fire you. You can make it too badly because it will break constantly and you will get fired too. You need to precisely calculate how much should it break so you are useful.”

Holds truth, at least in Easter Europe…

  17. It’s sad that IT people want everyone to think like them.

I’ve sat down and patiently explained the same things to people, over and over.

I’ve gone out to fix people’s elementary mistakes, over and over.

I’ve restarted more electronics than I can count.

And never once did I resent those that I was helping.

I can’t cut wood for shit, can’t play a musical instrument to save my life, couldn’t draw a straight line to play hangman.

We are all good at different things. What comes to us like breathing may be impossible to understand for someone else.

    Just have some fucking empathy.

time to update adobe reader and install google ultron.

  19. Scotchinawa

It looks pointless and unfulfilling. Which makes me wonder about the people who choose it as a career.

[serious] Is there any amount of wind that would degrade a wireless signal? I’m thinking there should be, like really high winds would distort the signal beyond use, at least temporarily.

  21. “Is the PC actually plugged into the wall”.

  22. When all is good then they say why we need IT… when shit hits the fan then say WHERES IT…

What the f*** you want, everything runs on a computer system… you do know that we have to maintain it, the shit don’t last forever.. you cheap b****…

It’s like you cheap F****** that don’t maintain your cars are the ones that shout the most…

  23. fenikz13

I swear my internet gets worse when it is windy and I have no logical explanation for it

  24. Zyonix_HaroN

These are only a few reasons, why I transferred myself into marketing and stopped being system administrator

  25. Icy_Investment_1878

I used to be an it guy at my mom’s hospital when i was 18 (nepotism i know but i was still decently self taught), the way i dealt with those kinds of people is to always asume they are stupid and dont know shit, treat them like retarded kids so u wont be dissappointed when they say dumb shit like why should i turn it on and off, why shouldnt i keep a note of the password on the monitor or why i shouldnt click on random files in random emails

  26. Educational_Diver867

why does this meme look older than me? Is it?

  27. Biscuits4u2

I use two PCs at the same time and once in a while I’ll be clicking the wrong mouse and wondering why it isn’t working.
