Just wait for the next minor Windows update. You’ll get a modal dialog prompting you to use “Internet Recommended Settings” which will not tell you what it does but its only purpose is to change your default browser to Edge.

I kind of hate how much MS pushes Edge. It’s written everywhere that this is the recommended browser for Windows and if you actually open the browser on Windows, you’ll get a notification to install it on your phone. Like how do they even suspect that I’d have one. In traditional Windows way there’s no option to disable these notifications in the notification, just postponing it for a week is an option.
I don’t hate the browser itself though, I had to use it on a streaming service which did go pretty hard against adblocking and no other solution did work. But the browser itself is fine, it’s just pushed to users so much instead of just being good and perhaps develop a user base that way as an actual competitor for other browsers.

I mean, yea, use whatever you want and what suits you. But I don’t get people who are installing Chrome over Edge (which got a lot better since old times) or even still recommending Brave.
I would go this path… If you want to have at least somehow secure browser with reliable adblock and tracker block, which is fast and has basic functions with good mobile platform – Firefox + ublock origin.
If you want some eye candy just to customize every small detail while staying on Chromium and you don’t care that much about every security detail – Vivaldi. If you are fine with fewer customization options but some more settings and speed limiter, etc. – Opera GX.
If you are fine with Microsoft collecting some of your data (doing anyway if you are signed in to your computer through Microsoft account and not a local one), then you may as well use Edge, which is fast and will get the job done, no need to install anything else.
Brave went a lot down in quality because of not maintained adblock and tracker database and also I noticed with a few people performance issues. It’s annoying and it forces you to basically use anything else.
Chrome used to be good years years ago, now facing many issues and is good maybe as one of the seconds browsers for devs/UX/UI designers to check state of the site.
