The issue here isn’t that you were using wifi vs Ethernet. There is obviously some kind of issue with your specific setup.
Edit: love being downvoted by parrots. I’ve worked in IT for over 20 years, have literally made my own routers and cables, and service hundreds of clients that have thousands of computers and servers. The info I provided is accurate and easily proven. If you think otherwise – spend 2 minutes on Google before spouting the same BS the others are replying with.

Don’t tell me. My router is way too far to cable :/
MeakerSE
1100Mb over wifi here :p I get plenty fast game downloads etc, I just don’t use the stock ISP modem, I use an Asus router for proper performance.
Just__Nob0dy
I get 5mbps 😭😭
TheRealMrTrueX
Love my fiber, people are like “bullshit you cant have a ping of 2” yet I live a mile from the company.
I would have the same if I could be bothered to route a cable. But alas it’s a pain
DeltaXi1929
I get better speeds over Wifi, oof.
Edit: It didn’t seem to be clear that I understand ethernet is inherently faster. What I am saying is that even when using WiFi, my connection is faster than the 900 up and down shown in the meme.
XLIV_tm
and I get 10mbps off Ethernet… and a whopping 160mbps off wireless so you tell me what I should use.

Ethernet is the only way for pc. Also if you game you should check your latency and jitter/packet loss:
Man… This is like the most basic easy & affordable upgrade one could ever do. Even had this with supposedly 0 ping on my Xbox and PlayStation before ever owning a PC

Of course dude Ethernet is always the better choice I have ran Ethernet all across my house before with like a 50 ft cable and I’d do it again

Next let’s tackle wired/wireless mouse/keyboards

The most I ever get is 20 Mbps…. yall lucky

I’ll run 100 feet of cable before I ever game on wifi.
Levi_Skardsen
Where I live, the only choice for high speeds is 5g WiFi.
ImDeadGuy
I’m using Ethernet and I get less than half a MB a second fml
Aoirith
Heard of 5GHz WiFi? I feel no difference and have the same pings as on cable.

First thing I did when I got my own place was chuck 24 ethernet ports and a switch in. So damn good.

When you compare Wifi and LAN speeds there’s no contest, LAN connections win all the time.
Virtual-Mud7758
I use ethernet but somehow my speed is less than 100 mbps

Everyone’s talking about gaming speeds and I’m over here just happy to be downloading massive work files quickly over ethernet.

The crazy thing fo me isn’t the download speed, considering I already get simular speeds. But I really could only dream of getting gigabit upload, I have 1 gigabit download and 30 megabit upload

It’s not about download speed, it’s about latency and packet loss
I have a 1 gig speed plan from Verizon.
The guy came to my house and did a walkthrough. I told him I needed the cord through my office (also my game room) because I needed exact speeds.
**Him: “That’s going to be really tough. I’d need to run a line over your roof.”**
