The difference between CDPR and Bethesda…

The difference between literally everyone and bethesda lmao

  2. ReaperQc

And there’s the twitter fanboys overexcited about the starfield award announcement and call anyone a hater when they show any slight negativity about the game.

Bethesda is being held back by Todd at this point. I have a sneaking suspicion that he along with the rest of upper management are resisting any kind of major innovation and are just banking on reproducing another spiritual successor to Skyrim with the creation engine.

The gaming industry doesn’t want another Skyrim (even if the fanboys are clamouring for it). Starfield was basically a less interesting Skyrim in Space as goofy as it is to hear and it’s floundering post launch.

“nooo you don’t get it, space is *supposed* to be empty and fucking boring! It’s immersive!”

  5. satanising

“You’re all playing Starfield the wrong way” = You’re not coping enough to find our game interesting when it’s not.

Just want to say that Bethesda’s PR team is just a bunch of egocentric people, and because of this poor communication with the community, they won’t go very far in regards of improving their future games.

Cyberpunk is still a glitchy mess with a bunch of unfinished areas and unfulfilled promises. The only reason they still worked on the game post-release was to help salvage the brand’s reputation. They patched up some bugs over the years, but I doubt many will be pre-ordering the next one.

Honestly, idc about Starfield, what really pissed me off was Skyrim SE latest update

  8. I still feel that too many people are letting CDPR off the hook too easily. Like, congrats you did what you were supposed to do at the start.

Being letdown by Starfield is actually what lead me to picking up Cyberpunk a couple weeks ago. I know I’m playing the “best” version of it for my first play through years after release but this experience is really what I was hoping to get out of Starfield. It’s not necessarily bad just…overly inoffensive and sterile

  10. ArkyChris

Tbf Bethesda is promising to support their game with features that people are asking them for.

I have a lot of respect for CDPR for this; they owned the issues, apologised for them, and worked hard for the next few years to make it a better game. I still like Starfield (unpopular opinion), but BGS have not really addressed the bugs well, or with the same level of humility that CDPR did.

Honestly, I think the difference between CDPR and BGS is a vision. Cyberpunk had a clear one from the start, down to its core it’s always been an artistic masterpiece, but it’s biggest folly was on the technical side. CDPR mostly had to just correct the game’s stability, which was a real feat given that it’s release was on last gen systems. Now on current gen, it thrives.
Starfield on the other hand is remarkably stable, but just doesn’t feel like there’s any kind of vision or identity to it. I’ve seen on so many different comments calling it “soulless”, which honestly, it really is. The story it’s itself is pretty paper thin, the writing of it all is less than laughable, and the lore barely exists in the vastness your given.

All in all, Cyberpunk 2077 just needed to be fixed, while Starfield just wasn’t finished. (Or isn’t finished because I theorize BGS will be trickling in content over the next few years)

And this is why I respect CD Project Red

Guys! Quit kicking Starfield! It’s dead already, you’re just desecrating a corpse.

  15. bassoontennis

Here is the thing. We are judging cyberpunk through rose colored glasses of 2.0 lol. It had just a bad launch for a lot of people as Starfield. I for one enjoyed my first run through of Starfield and it only came out in September. CP has had 3 years to fix their game and I am very glad they did because I picked it up after I took a break from Starfield. I am in the middle of Phantom Liberty now and loving it. And I will go back to Starfield when the next patch comes out to see how they have improved stuff. But if in 2 years the game is unimproved I will agree with all the naysayers.

Bethesda has never released a game as shitty, overhyped and underpromised, and just blatantly as buggy as CDPR did with release Cyberpunk.

Everyone here can talk all they want about a comeback or whatever but these guys literally/ blatantly lied through their teeth and released content that was *maybe* playable if you had a high end PC. I’m tired of talking about it but I can’t let it go, I love the game after the 2.0 update but I literally couldn’t even save my file right up until 2.0 released.

The game was *that* bad. And people always go “huh that sucks, it worked fine for me” like that fixes issues thousands of people had up until 2.0. I’m happy we have what we have now and Bethesda has released some steamy ass turds but CDPR released a way shittier turd than anything in Bethesda history. You’d have to still be mad about some cheap ass polyester bag to even begin to disagree.

Everyone thought Starfield would release with a shit ton of bugs, and this is the cleanest Bethesda release by far. The game is uninspired and boring as hell after the first 3-5 hours but it was *playable* on release. No company in gaming history has ever had such a great track record and fumbled the bag as hard as CDPR did.

  17. Elitericky

After seeing starmid I have no faith in ES6

  18. Curlyhead-homie

Both games were dope, cyberpunk blew me away even on release on an Xbox one x, starfield did feel like it was missing some things but was also a fun game. For their first attempt at that universe I think Bethesda did alright. Room to improve but not bad, dlcs will be interesting

  19. archiegamez

I still remember CEO of CDPR an apology vid like holyshit… i doubt Todd will do something like that

  20. jdesrochers23x

Yeah and it took CDPR what? 3-4 years before their game became closer to what it was meant to be and EVEN THEN it’s still ridiculously far from what we were promised.

I get that Bethesda is absolute dogshit and CDPR at least tried to redeem themselves with all the work but stop praising them for releasing an unfinished/unplayable game and took years for it to make sense post-release. Tolerating this kind of practice is really bad for the customers and praising it is even worst

  21. dylan0o7

Lol cyberpunk goat contender. Tell me another joke

  22. Ispheria

you’re playing it wrong…AND on underpowered hardware. it’s not our fault the game can’t run on your 3 year old pc

  23. CoffeeManFS45

I think alot of you are forgetting the only reason cyberpunk had a shit launch was cause half of this community literally sent death threats to release the game early. So CDPR said “ok fuck yall enjoy” and released a unfinished product, then the complaining and bug comp vids came out. If those people gave CDPR just a LITTLE bit more time it would’ve been the best game of the year.
Anyways main point now: yes, cyberpunk truly has come a long way and has only improved with each update. Imo it doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

  24. ShearAhr

Personally I love it. Let’s see what Bethesda is made of. Will they spend three years fixing the mess? I doubt it. But let’s see it

  25. Hot_Ad_865

Todd Howard should’ve been bullied harder .

    Scam artist lol

  26. GraveGuardian

I bought cyberpunk physical full price at release, didnt play it for a year, then started and finished act 1. Then stopped playing, was pretty good but I wasnt hooked, ended up selling it for 20 bucks. Just bought it again for 30 bucks digital, so much fun now, really improved in all areas, having a blast lol definitely will get phantom liberty too. Cdpr got the most outta me, maybe this was their plan all along…

  27. GlassLongjumping6557

You know it’s bad when modders refuse to make mods for a game from a company best known for having their games modded.
