Cyberpunk 2.0 + Phantom Liberty lost to a game that hasn’t had new content since 2021…

  1. RDR2 definitely deserves it. It came out of the box as an amazing product day one. Cyberpunk took years to fix and even today nobody can do finisher animations for example. Doesn’t give as strong “labor of love” vibes when the devs leave their ultimate edition in a state like that over the entire holidays and beyond

  2. Do people who voted RDR2 not know what “Labour of Love” means but voted anyway? This is genuinely confusing to me.

    We weren’t robbed.

We got all this great new stuff.

    RdR2 can have its award.

  4. Massive-Tower-7731

Maybe they thought the award was for playing the game being a labor of love? lol

  5. Cyberpunk is disqualified from nomination because it won last year

  6. jackdawjones

CP2077 won last year, could not be nominated/win again.

  7. Dankhunt4Z0

Ppl that voted don’t know what the phrase means or stands for ☠️ mfs thought it meant they put a lot of labor and love into the game so much it’s still a good game 😂

  8. cyberXrev

ANd starfield won ‘most innovative gameplay’
The game which didn’t bring anything new in terms of gameplay and regressed in lots of ways from their previous offering

Don’t get triggered by this shit it’s all bullshit anyways 😂

  9. People are going to give me shit for this, but I’m going to say it anyway.

RDR 2 on PC gave me an even worse of a time than Cyberpunk 2077.

Starting by the fact that it would outright not recognise my AMD GPU, not recognise my VRAM and it would crash to desktop at least once during every session.

Maybe I’m just unlucky or Rockstar doesn’t like AMD, but for me the RDR2 PC port was pretty mediocre.

Also damn, labour of love. The game hasn’t had an update in the last year and the multiplayer has nothing but greedy microtransactions that are repeated year after year.

I’m just saying, I don’t care about Cyberpunk in this instance, I simply don’t recognise what ”Labour of love” means here.

Yeah it didn’t deserve it at all.

Rdr2 gets gta knockoff game modes. And receives updates like 1-2x a year.

I love rdr2 (like tne story more than Cyberpunk honestly) but post release it didn’t receive NEARLY as much attention as gta or Cyberpunk.

  11. SHWOOPYDOOP420

Bruh ngl I love cyberpunk but cmon. How are people upset at that. Knowing that’s the most open ended game out there rn

  12. I agree Red Dead doesn’t deserve it, but 2077 won last year. It wouldn’t be fun if the same game just kept winning every year

  13. GrimGunz671

I’ve played RDR online off and on but it doesn’t deserve “labor of love” it was/is a cash grab for rockstar games. Rockstar was flabbergasted because RDR online didn’t make fast big cash like GTAO did

  14. Outlier909

All bullshit. So cool a game from 2018 won the current year award

  15. FuffySweata

Fuck this echo chamber. Are you guys serious? I just played through 90 hours of cyberpunk and the DLC and it was riddled with bugs. I would say a bug every 10 minutes, some of the game breaking. Cyberpunk is a great game but it doesn’t even come close to RDR2.

  16. Pistonenvy2

i dont really give a shit either way i understand CP77 couldnt win, thats much less interesting of a conversation than why the fuck RDR2?

that game is almost 5 years old now and hasnt been touched in that entire time. is this a protest vote thing or are people literally just like “I LIKE DIS GAME *vote*”

surely there are more deserving games.

  17. Devs robbed us on release so they got robbed this year /j

  18. Hdldeathlord

People play cyberpunk on a platform that aint GOG?

  19. Johnny47Wick

I enjoy a salty meal every now and then, but even this thread is too much

  20. Alternative_Shape666

The steam awards have always been a joke anyway.

  21. AgoraSnepwasdeleted

Bruh cyberpunk literally won labor of love last year it can’t win it again

  22. It’s a fucking popuality contest. It’s an absolute meme because there were no proper updates this whole year lmao.

  23. That_Car6309

doesn’t matter much, both are good games

  24. The don’t even have a 60fps patch on consoles, they are really supportive.

  25. Ep0nymousAnonym0us

I used to love rockstars games until i realised how horrifically linear they are. Started with the end of GTA4 and carried over to releases since, for example early RDR2 mission seems to have u tracking someone through the snow by their footprints then next mission youre chasing someone on a horse and if they get too far away you fail!? Its like “Hang on! I just tracked someone through the snow but now because it doesnt fit your narrative i *cant* follow the hoofprints?!?” that and the whole failing missions because you crossed an arbitrary invisible mission boundary line to search a corpse…
Well, the word “labour” i guess does suit rdr2 as it was very laborious!!

And as for Starfield “the oldest new game youll ever play” getting an innovation award….

    😂

  26. Transitsystem

Idk man, it’s not that deep. The steam awards have always been bunk, and like, it doesn’t really matter. Don’t take it too seriously.

  27. MartiniPolice21

Cyberpunk won it last year, and honestly, it shouldn’t have

  28. Awkward-Yak-9033

Red dead was great but they left their online mode out to die

  29. Healthy_Concern_3635

I mean RDR2 is an amazing game

  30. MrAIMSGOOD

As someone that used to play a ton of Red Dead Online, that’s a no for me dog; they hardly put any effort into those updates, WHEN we got them.

  31. Zealousideal-Plum91

Rdr is a boring cowboy game, change my mind
