It’s not gold, it’s lime green. It denotes weapons or iconic items from the Phantom Liberty DLC area: normal weapons that have this corner have +25% armor penetration compared to their normal counterparts, and several iconic items (weapons, cyberware, consumables) are also unique to Dogtown.
They are Barghest guns. The gun itself is painted lime green, too.
Ok Cool. Thank you for solving that mystery for me. I suspected it was from the phantom Liberty expansion but I have picked up lots of guns in that area and this was the first two show that difference

I wish the Barghest guns weren’t ALL neon green. My character’s outfit and the majority of my weapons are black and red, that bright green just looks goofy with the rest of my gear lol and yet they have some really good stats on some of the weapons I’ve found
Legit only use iconics.
It means it’s a Barghest version weapon, and will have **increased armor penetration** **and other stat bonuses** compared to other weapons in the same class. It will also usually feature their paint job.
In this case, Copperheads normally have 25% armor penetration but the Barghest version has 50%. It also has higher attack speed and a larger magazine.
I can’t use any iconics because the wall in my apartments will be empty. We can’t have that.
