Grandpa wants these put in, but what’s the difference between the smaller memory card? Do I put it in as well as the other two thicker cards?

It’s so weird seeing ram without cladding these days.

Looks to me like the shorter one is just a low profile ram stick, it should work with the other ones as long as it has similar specs.

That ram has a great personality

RAM modules are not Memory Cards. Memory cards are extra storage for Android devices, dash cams, etc.

It looks like swapping from a single 8GB stick of RAM, to 2x8GB sticks for dual channel and more memory in general.

So unless the system has 4 RAM slots and you want to run the extra stick, you should just be using the 2 new sticks.

  6. That’s a VLP (Very Low Profile) RAM stick, useful in Small Form Factor (SFF) builds where the cooler height is limited and it hangs over the RAM slots.

They are 8gb ddr3 at 1600mhz. They are same specs and SHOULD work fine together. As for size it doesnt really matter. Got 2 short ones(2x4gb 1600mhz) and 2 big ones with heatsinks (2x4gb 1600) in old rig.

maybe he has 1×8 already and hes moving to 4×8 . mix matching ram is gonna be ok.

If the ddr is the same it can replace the other ones. Memory is memory, as long as you use the same exact amount on the other slots (i would prefer same brand to)

Sticks that show the chip is just as good as the rgb ones you see, just useable, not flashy
