    you do this when you are moving a client or if the client has left. faster to cut then it is to unplugg and untangle cables.

    I’ve dreamed of doing such a thing several times. Never have, mind you, but I did dream about it.

    I remember seeing a video of a person frantically cutting these because of server infiltration…

    Based on the direction of those cables i bet it was part of an upgrade of an old closet thaylt had spaghetti runs. Most likely it was faster to just cut, remove old switches and runs and then add new and new patch cables in an organized fashion.

    I had this done to my departmental switches by central network operations because the ports were “idle”. This was about 2010/11. The ports were “idle” because the entire building was under renovation and there was no legal occupancy to the spaces during that time. This was a widely known renovation. You couldn’t enter any part of the building without seeing large components of the renovation.
