I found this photo where two bottles of vodka (about 40% alcohol) are connected to the liquid cooling system. How effective is it to use alcohol?

i mean using fammable liquid is propably not the smartest choise

I mean, a lot of it will evaporate over time, so you would probably have to refill the loop quite often. On the bright side, no bacteria or mold should grow in the system with 40% alcohol.

They are just using water, as it’s usually not a good idea to mix flammable liquid with heat.

They just refilled the bottles with water or PC coolant…

Nah, you shoul use Apple Cider Vinegar. That way when you need it you can drain the loop and pour it into the salad.

Spirit bottles being used as reservoirs doesn’t mean they are running ethanol (alcohol) in the loop.

It would be a bad idea anyway. This issue isn’t so much flammability as ethanol has much lower specific heat capacity and lower thermal conductivity. Which makes it less efficient at moving heat.

I don’t think it is an alcohol just decoration for fun.
