I have played on Xbox for a long time, and I finally decided to save up and buy myself a PC. At 14, over a summer, I did many pet sitting jobs in my neighborhood and made/saved up over 1600$. I added that to the few hundred I had in my bank account and bought all of the parts. To save some money I decided to assemble it myself, which was pretty difficult as I’m a beginner. Feel free to hate on the looks. I was going for performance over looks as I was on a strict budget.

Unfortunately, I am currently playing on two 20inch monitors that are 740p and 60hz because I wanted to spend all of my money on the Pc and handle monitors later. Both monitors have a DVD reader and I found both of them in my Grandparents basement. Hopefully though, I am getting a 34in 1440p 165hz monitor for Christmas though.

I also built my first PC at 14.
Had an AMD ~~Duron~~ K6/2 550 and a Voodoo 2. The second one that came shortly after was a Duron 600. I had sold the K6/2 build for dough to play in a hockey tournament.
Flash back story from the time:
I was telling my homies one time that a 54GB HDD coming soon. They didnt believe me and couldnt imagine anyone needing that amount of storage.
We all had 1 to 4GBs mostly at the time.
50GBs came out like 6 months later.

CPU Cooler is upside down and more than likely if you put the fan on the way it came its blowing air through the cooler towards your ram.
flip the cooler so logo is bottom right, with fan next to the ram.

You want the other way 100% the fans in the front should all be intake your cpu cooler is upside down making your fan on the wrong side it should be flipped at least move the fan to the other side of you don’t care about the deep cool logo being upside down

I honestly think some people are trying to find mistakes that there aren’t. So far I would say you did a great job at 14! Even the financial part is amazing, how you handled it at your age.
I would check temps and performance with components usage and if everything is alright under maximum load, I would just let it be. I saw for example comments about that CPU cooler – honestly doesn’t matter if you pull air and not push (if it’s really pulling, because if not, you have it just backwards and that might be issue), as long as you have fans in the right direction and you have a good airflow. If your temps are good, then you are fine, that’s all what matters.

Great job, i also built my first pc back when i was 14!
Currently i also have an h5 as a case on my main setup, and the only big recommendation i’d have for you is to reroute the 24 pin and the two 8 pin on the back a bit better… (you could also buy some gpu cables to make the thing look nicer, but that would obviously cost money)
Also,this build looks a lot like my blacked out build, so to make it look reaaaally nice you could get some white led strips (if you want rgb get only rgbw ones, rgb ones have really bad whites) and put them inside the case…

Also, my genuine recommendation (obviously now’s too late, you built the pc and already got your monitor for Christmas), but getting some slightly less powerful components could’ve gotten you a nice 1440p monitor, some great noctua fans and also some extensions… (or if you really don’t care about aesthetics a nice keyboard and mouse or a pro controller).
Thought i shouldn’t be the one to tell you this, because in my latest build (the one in the photos), even having years of experience and probably tens pf pc’s under my belt, i still did the exact same thing… (only that in a different category)

I would’ve loved to use all the money sitting in my bank account but I had to promise I would use it to buy a car 🥲 so now I’m slowly saving to upgrade my gaming laptop to a proper custom built tower
