If you can wait a few months the 4080 super/ti is supposed to drop. I’ve got a 2060 super that im gonna replace if i can get one on release. It struggled with alan wake 2 at low settings. If you don’t really care about dlss or ray tracing 7900xt or xtx looks like a really good deal.
for pure value, a 6800, 6800xt. for future? maybe 7900xt but all depends on prices
I bought a 2K UW monitor for a good deal on Black Friday. After I got it I realized I had to retire my old 1080 to utilize it. Good night sweet prince. I’m thinking about building a shadow box and display it.
I just upgraded from a 1080ti -> 4070. I’m very happy with my upgrade. I can play Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk buttery smooth, even with RTX on, on my 4K TV (Using DLSS of course).

What’s your CPU; if it’s older than 3-4 years bottleneck will be an issue (assuming you are planning to buy a current gen GPU). If so, you might be better off with a system wide upgrade.
I’m getting severely depressed looking for a replacement for my 1080ti, none are really appealing to me with price/performance

If you want it to last as long as the 1080ti did, the 4090 will be your best (and probably only) bet
maybe this is what they meant by psychological horror
whatever you do upgrade too, you have a christmas present for somebody in need
I have a 1080ti. I will be waiting two or three more years because I still think the ray tracing stuff is still not at a point where it works well in my perspective. It’s computationally heavy.
