Cyberpunk Orion, the next mainline Cyberpunk game may feature more significant branching narratives based on player’s choice of their character’s background/lifepath

I’ll believe that when I see it. Many games have said they will have branching narratives and multiple endings. Mass Effect anyone?

Lets give them as much time as they need.
Let em cook.
If anything 2077 was a testament to why you DONT rush a release.

Sounds great but this kinda stuff always ends up on the cutting room floor once they need to cut scope to launch a game.

As someone getting older, I would prefer another Witcher 2. Where its short sweet and pretty divergent to another Cyberpunk thats huge and lengthy. Not to say I don’t like CP2077 I love it as a matter of fact. But something that was like twice as long as Phantom Liberty with some wildly divergent paths so I could get 2, 3 maybe 4 playthroughs out of it in 100 hours would be pretty neato.

Can’t wait for the release in 2035!

I think a lot of the development of Cyberpunk 2077 went into creating the world, with that out of the way, in Orion they can focus on the story and RPG element, and putting tons of romance options for all the horny boys out there.

Hopefully they have the time and they learned enough about what fans wanted
Negative_Possible_21
Keeping my expectations tempered, hopefully this time they keep times realistic

Cyberpunk Orion may be a racing game. Or a flight sim. Maybe it will play in the prehistoric era. Who knows?
PrestigiousAd2717
I really hope that’s the case. I think they wanted to do that with the first one but it ended up getting really trimmed down.

Wait so does that mean that they confirmed V is still alive in the sequel or are we talking just life path?? I Freakin hope so, def would love the voice actors to come back

Go in with zero expectations = zero disappointment.

Yah it’s likely to be a Fallout New Vegas kind of game where they take an already built game (Fallout 3 in that case) and have the time to create a more sprawling and open game. I think alot of people wanted that in the first place but CDPR would have probably needed another 3-5 years to make the first game like that.

AN ACTUAL RPG?! No way

You can even make the game smaller ( world env ) and release dlc after when they are ready. Hopefully they can improve a lot with the new engine the AI

I won’t expect anything because even if CD Projekt Red redeemed themselves , I won’t forget that CP2077 was supposed to be an RPG where you could do much more Than what we have , with third person cinematic .
What we got is an action game that is very far from it ( they even changed it on their twitter description ).

Even if it takes ten more years for the sequel, I shall faithfully wait. Let them cook for as long as it needs.
Plastic_Lobster1036
Who cares? At this point just let it be finished upon release unlike 2077 was.

A few games already, sometimes, included that. There are some missions and dialogues in Witcher3 with different outcomes for the gameplay. Or in AC odysse when you save the Families from a cult, just to find out certain time later they had The Plaque, and most npcs on the island dies because of your choice

Fuck sake….! Here we go again!!
WAIT TILL THE GAME IS FINISHED THEN JUDGE!
Of course the game designer WANTS all kinds of things, they WANT the same as all of us.
The reason why RPGs are the hardest caregory of game to make, is that you’re constantly filling it with systems that you only use once.
More branching dialogue, means more attention to states of the game only a minority will ever experience.
Ultimately they will make a calculation on the features on the table, and the amount of manpower, time and money they have available.

Said the same thing with Cyberpunk 2077, don’t trust em just yet
BlueDragonfly18
We need Baldur’s Gate 3 level of branching narratives where you can play the game multiple times and the majority of what you see is new (plus choices have consequences later on).
