No cooler is not going to stop a post to at least bios tho or error screen saying no cpu fan picked up or cpu over heat warning on boot
so………
and its most certainly not going to cause it to shut off after a few secs. it takes mins for this process to happen, the cpu will downclock it self and all that till it finally shut down.

It’s not the fan. At start with nothing running that fan shouldn’t be necessary at all unless he has bios set for max turbo boost and even then it wouldn’t do they’re describing

I also forgot to put a cooler on my cpu but the 7800x3D just boots up fine without it. I touched the running cpu with my finger and burned myself like an idiot. So just dont buy intel

Most motherboards give a “no cpu fan” warning at post when there’s nothing plugged into the fan header. So either he didn’t read or understand the warning or this genius plugged a case fan into the CPU fan header.
