Hi, I want to run 128GB of ram so I can run local LLMs at the highest speed possible. I’m not sure of the ability to overclock this sort of ram in general, it is much larger density than usual. The kit with the best overall stock speed that I found available to buy is 4000 c18:

CPU:5950x

Motherboard: MSI x570 Tomahawk Wifi

Current RAM: 4x8GB Gskill 3600 c16

I wanted to see if the linked kit is recommended, not compatible, etc before buying it. I also want to understand what I can expect out of this kit if overclocking it, and the effect that can have on LLM performance.

I appreciate your recommendations and help, thanks!

The 5000 series CPU’s generally max at 3800. (Rare) with that much RAM I would think it would be considerably lower speeds. Definitely save some money don’t get 4000.
