Interesting way to do. Definitely a r/spicypillows worthy entry.
And for it’s years of faithful service, now it gets left to slowly die by doing nothing but displacing some air.

Lol, it can go sit like that in the laptop cart of shame. We have a cart that we just put the old batteries into when they get ripe. Might give this a shot lol.
Personally I’d use a big resistor and the fan, that way it’ll continue discharging when the fan dies
That’s a sketchy as hell battery lol
Upgrade idea: put one or several power resistors in parallel with the fan, glued to a heatsink in front of the fan.
