While I too am one of those who bought MW3, and am fully aware it was supposed to be a DLC for MW2, the reality is – it is better content wise than MW2.
My buddy played MW2019 but skipped MW2, and now I am gamesharing him my MW3 game on PS5. The amount of content one gets from just having MW3 is insane – MP+Warzone+Zombies+Campaign.
So when you play MW3, you actually can unlock and use every single MW2 gun, all of the camos for them, and on top of that, you get extra camos with the zombie mode for those same weapons. Not to mention all the gameplay changes made in MW3 make it a far more enjoyable game than MW2 is.
**The content you get from having MW3 without MW2 is bigger and better than what you’d get from having MW2 without MW3.**
Yes, the campaign is much shorter than MW2, and that is the only negative side to it, and yet imo it was more intense the whole way compared to MW2.
The whole 70dolla DLC argument really was fair when we had access to only the (short) campaign. Once the rest of the game opened up, and now with WZ/S1 dropping, it is clear it can easily be considered its own game.
