Even if most news/shows displayed on TV are on loop, there are some that I stop and watch.
The Chip In show is quite funny and Ziggy can be a hit or miss.
Kill146
N54 news is pretty boring since I’ve been present at most of the “events” around the city although I always find the coal mine one quite nice. Knowing those miners are safe makes me happy 🙂 (I kill more people per hour than miners that survived)
the_chistu
I’d love to watch more of the news and various shows, but every time I sit down to channel surf it’s nothing but ads. Switch to another channel? Ads. Switch again? More ads.
Then I’ll be in the middle of combat on a gig somewhere and an episode of Chip In or a news broadcast that I’ve never seen will come on a random TV and I’ll miss half of it.
X-Craft
Yes, so much that I even went to see her live right after the parade
Soguyswedid_it2
All the time, there’s so much lore in the news, and it’s cool how certain main story stuff like the Kang tao av crash or the kidnapping at the parade are reported on
pixelrage
I feel like this inclusion of the game was either rushed or they didn’t have time to build on it. Seems like there’s such little content (especially the commercials…I’m going mad, having to hear “RAAAAGE!” and “taste the love” every few seconds)
No_Bar6194
A couple of times. It’s nice to see the headlines setting up future side missions.

on of the first times i played, i got really stoned and was in the elevator in one of the mega buildings. and i just started watching the news. quite interesting, felt real immersion

100%. There are unique things that popup during your play through. After going through the game multiple times you catch how the news/tv foreshadows some story points.
WeirdManOnMountain
If she kept looking at me like that, I’d listen to anything she had to say. 😆

You’re kind of forced to with all the elevators with them. Not to mention how there are televisions everywhere. Most of the new stories are just repeated anyway.
KommissarKrieg
Any time I see a new broadcast I’ll stop for it. I love watching or reading news in games. It’s the most organic way to push background lore, or world building lore our character would otherwise have no part in.
WSKYLANDERS-boh
Yes I do and man if some stuff is fucked up
Exciting_Meaning2947
I do it more in my second play through.
CaptAmerica42
Ill usually stop and watch in elevators and such till the story announcement is over
Khaine123
Yes, there are a few international news bits which are fascinating. The situation with the flooded Netherlands or the removal of automation of driving in China are quite always worth listening. I hope we’ll get to interact with more foreign characters in the future, maybe introduce some Dutch refugees.

Yes, I do it very often. If you stop around and listen to the news even in the elevator, you will realize they are actually progressing as you progress with the main quest or some side quests. I actually enjoy it for role playing when I want to play a “realistic” day in the life of V. Irl you might stop and listen to the radio or the news unintentionally, become curious although you’re not one to keep up with the latest stuff.
One time I stood probably around 10/15 minutes in the elevator of V’s megabuilding and watched all the news (at the beginning of the game), and it just so happened that they spoke of the relic and the impact it would have on people, the rich vs the poor, religion etc. there is always something new to discover!

If, by “watch the news on purpose,” you mean “perv on Gillean Jordan because she’s bad af,” then yes, quite often.
TrueNova332
I have mostly after the big missions like the Kang Tao AV and the heist as well as the parade. There’s that late night show that pretty funny
SilentB3ast
Recorded one while I was coming out of the elevator. I’m convinced that she’s an AI or well-off and stoic. In part because there’s no way she’s talking about any of this crap so causally.
Qli2077
I do lol, its cool
Jent01Ket02
Sat down to watch someone talk about cyberpsychosis on Ziggy’s show. Pretty cool, it aired after Shoot to Thrill which I’m sure foreshadows nothing XD
SmackMyGiraffes
It’s a great source for non bias news
Intelligent_Creme351
If there’s ever news in a game, I watch it all in one sitting.
BlueForte
Yeah, last week I was playing and the serial killer gay farmer popped up. Something about police finding the children and I was like. Wasn’t that me and the rogue cop? 😑

N54 news has some interesting pieces. Like miners surviving thanks to hibernation implants, or how Kang Tao wants to own Pacifica.

I actually encountered this news reporter on scene. Had way too much fun repeatedly walking into her shot to piss her off
