Recently started a build on my old NZXT H1 v1 (yes TH🔥T ONE) I had lying around, and found the CPU would instantly overheat and shut down despite pump and fan where running at 100%. Decided to repair it since spare/compatible AiOs’ are not available. Indeed, the thing was full of crap inside. Gave everything a rinse and a clean. Tested the pump (it’s OK). Assembled it, filled it and works perfectly fine now. I’ve seen many people talk crap about this AiO with reason, but at least it’s very serviceable, THANKFULLY

PSA: Just get an air cooler and never worry about this sorta thing again.
Do you know what it was? Flux would’ve shown up earlier, so I guess either a gasket or the fluid itself. What did you refill it with? Propylene glycol? Or distilled water and some additive?
I was always confused why people would want to put something full of liquid inside their computer when air cooling is sufficient for healthy operation of the vast majority of setups
Tip: If the cold plate is too blackened from corrosion, drench it with lemon juice (citric acid) and rinse it after a couple of minutes. Repeat as necessary.
Meanwhile my 10 years old corsair aio still going strong.
Just went through this with my NZXT H1. I ended up getting it replaced for free by NZXT. Then i went ahead and updated the rig with a new air cooler, psu and Fractal North :-). I am hoping to get my wife or daughter into PC gaming to build something in the NZXT for them.
Air cooler master race 😏
PSA: Buy Air Cooler 😉
No. (aircooler owner)
This is interesting. I was under the impression that AiO coolers were not serviceable and were designed to be thrown away.
They wouldn’t warranty mine out. So I bought a axp120-x67 for a 5600x and it been working fine in my H1.
Did the same with a “broken” Deepcool Castle 240 V2 that my friend gave me for free, still rocking with my 5GHz 9600K
Don’t eat that…. Yuck
Pizza
my NZXT H1 PSU and cooler I bought in Apr 2022 both gave out this September, so I ended up transferring back to my old case with my Corsair PSU and H100 cooler from 2014. I love the look and size of the case, but I’ll never trust another NZXT product again. 2014 corsair products going strong though
Air cooling for the win!
Nothing gets this sub off more than saying “I use an aircooler btw”
I think you did a good job. Although I would’ve just gone full custom loop at that point.
Staring at my NZXT x53 nervously now. ugh
Yeah… sticking with air coolers.
man I forgot that the h1 AIOs are made by apaltek, what a shit choice on their end
Oh look the soy boys are out in force feeling compelled to mention they use air coolers. No one cares
