Not to be totally sarcastic. But yeah, either give up or keep trying. Those clips are nothing short of a bee-atch. Find some thing to use as leverage, to push against it. I know, on non PC parts I have used pliers.

Never tried it with a pc or that exact clip but, drop the clip in a balloon so it doesn’t fly off if you slip. Use multi grips.

Long nose pliers, it’s called an e-clip you’ll need to compress the spring down and then use your pliers to squeeze in on sideways if you get my drift.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers, hold one side of the washer with them, and push it in at an angle (if your pliers are on the left, get the washer started on the right and pull it against the rod itself). You will need to throw a couple of cuss words and give it pretty significant force. If you’re lucky, you may be able to flex the washer to make it easier to get on there, but that may snap it right in half

That’s an E-clip, you just push it into the groove but you want to be careful if it pops off while you are applying pressure they have a tendency to launch themselves out of sight and be lost forever

That’s called an e clip. It’s in the family of retaining rings like circlips. (just flavoring this post with a little bit of fastener knowledge)

Needle nose pliers(one end on the retainer other on shaft) or start the retainer into the groove and pop the back of it lightly with a flat head screwdriver..
