I do think the car chases from gangs is really cool, but is this really something arasaka would do? I feel like they would give you a fake job that takes you somewhere away from the general populous and jump you with saka ninjas.

Sure, it raises difficulty in the late game but it also feels a lot like Far Cry when it’s most annoying to be randomly jumped upon by rabid bots. I guess my annoyance comes from them going into combat mode stright away without the forewarning of most regular enemy encounters. 2.1 needs a bit of tuning I think.
