>This morning we announced that the player count for #Warzone Battle Royale is 100 players.
>Our top priority is creating an optimal and fun experience for all of our players based on critical metrics.
>These metrics include time-to-action, the map size of Urzikstan, new circle timings and sizes, total match time (20 minutes), red dots, contracts, and various new & existing second chance mechanics.
>We believe we’ve found the right balance to offer multiple phases starting with fair infil & looting, followed by healthy mid-game engagements, and an end game climax where the best player(s) leave with the win.
>As always, we will continue to monitor community sentiment and internal data closely, making adjustments as needed over time.
>What really matters is that you drop in on Wednesday and experience it for yourself! 🪂
>See you in Urzikstan! 🎉
I don’t know why some people are crying. Just try it and complain after if the players count is too low. I’m pretty sure they will bump up the player count up if a lot of people complain.
If Raven believe they found the right balance to max players then so be it, we’ll have to see for ourselves. Map is smaller, matches are shorter, and more ways to be brought back than ever so it could end up being just fine. Plus most of the lobby died in the first few minutes when it was 150 players any ways, pacing could be more consistent this way. Let’s just play it for ourselves and see how it goes, they can always tweak it more down the line.
Raven being brain dead as always what’s new, I give it 3 months before the player count drop dead again for warzone 2.5
“We have not optimized our game appropriately and IW are bitching about not wanting to help fix the engine”. Warzone 1 was fine with 150, then they added a train, and added red doors, and added more and more shit and it got bloated and never optimized properly. Then in Warzone 2 it happened again, they added AI which hurt performance, and also how they implemented prox chat. There is no technical reason we can’t have 150 or even 200 players if they actually optimized the game.
Joint operations typhoon rising had 150 players in 2004
The game became absolute trash once they changed Al Maz to 100 so I’m not sure they really know what they’re talking about
I see this as a good thing. Warzone servers were always unstable with 150 players anyways. The netcode struggled to keep up in the first half of the matches and got noticeably better towards the end game.
We shall see how it goes, as long as the map isn’t too large and spread out, 100 players should play just fine with the movement speed being amped up this year.
