
I currently have a 64Gb kit — 2x32Gb Corsair CMK64GX5M2B5600C40
But I want to upgrade to 128Gb or even 192Gb.
\– Why ? I built a workstation for ML purposes at the beginning of the year and my current usage sometimes reaches my RAM limit. I wanted 128Gb from the beginning but back in March I never found a 128Gb kit that “just worked out of the box” with my CPU + Motherboard combination. I probably should have tried to manually tune the timings, but at that point I didn’t really know how to do it.
Nowadays I am pretty confident on how to OC my RAM (I have OC’d the current kit to run with tighter timings and higher clock). Currently running it at 5800 38-40-40-80 twr48 rEFI 60000 fCLCK2200 1.3V and stability tested with prime95, aida64, OCCT, Testmem5 over many hours/days.
So the question is, does anyone recommend any specific kit with 128Gb or above ?
Higher speed and/or better latency is a nice-to-have but not the most important thing. It needs to be stable so I can run many hours (sometimes days) of continuous machine learning training without crashes.
I see [Asus QVL’s list](https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x670e-e-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_qvl_memory/) has several 128 and even 192 kits. But I wanted to check if I can get recommendations from the community.

BTW, forgot to mention. If you think upgrading the CPU to a 7950x3d is worth it and might enable better RAM kits, please let me know, I have been considering swapping the CPU as well, but currently I am not CPU bound (most of my ML applications are bound by the data transfer speeds between RAM <-> CPU <-> GPU, not necessarily by the CPU speeds/#cores).
