Smasher is way more chromed out than even a late game V, and with more than just common cyberware available at any street ripper.
I mean look at how chromed David was in the anime and Smasher still wrecked them and hardly broke a sweat.
Lore wise it makes no sense for V to be that much stronger. It’s strictly typical RPG shenanigans.
I’m glad they are updating him in 2.1. It’s a common complaint for a reason.

To be fair, I really think if Adam Smasher was Dark Souls level difficulty then we’d get just as much people complaining he’s too hard

While Smasher is obviously way more chromed than V, to be honest I disagree that his chrome is necessarily *better*. Yeah, he’d get bleeding edge Arasaka tech, but V has a ton of ways to get unique chrome from black markets (where Zetatech’s – was it Zetatech? – Kiroshi-buster can wind up), and from contacts like Songbird and her Quantum Tuner. Smasher’s more likely to get his chrome directly from Arasaka, ironically limiting him.
And that’s assuming Yorinobu is still giving him the best. Yorinobu wants Arasaka destroyed, making its primary enforcer invincible isn’t good for business.

I swear, every time I hear someone complain about things being to east it irritates me. When you are in the late game while being fully chromed out, it naturally becomes easy, if you try to do the same thing without cyberware, it’s much harder.
Rn I’m around level 25 with an epic monowire, legendary Sandy and a completely maxed out skill tree, and I struggle with the gigs I’m doing (trying to do gigs before the story), and I know from personal experience it would be downright impossible without cyberware.
Cyberware makes the game much easier. If you want a challenge, try not using any cyberware and see how much harder it is.

It’s true, he was really hard the first time, on a play through were I pretty much ignored cyberware and most fixer missions

It could be a simple as an inventory check and buffing him up a bit if you have powerful gear. Pretty simple
