In terms of price this seems totally reasonable. And at least at 1080p (full HD), it should run all of those games at 60fps without issues. Even most newer AAA games should still run acceptably 🙂

But if you don’t want to do that it’s an okay price. Your son would love to unwrap this and be able to play. My advice would be to predownload the games he likes so he can jump right in Christmas Day and not have to download and wait.
I’ve bought from cyber power before and never had an issue. However, the first pc I built was with my son, and I assure you, you can’t put a price on that. Either way you decide to go would be fine but I’d say build it. Not for the money, but for the memories.

The only thing better than it would be the 5600x3d+6650xt system that they have in microcentre for $699. But that’s only an option if you can physically go to a microcentre.

If you are a parent and looking to just get to chopping away that Christmas list before all this stuff is out of stock, then I say it’s a “yes” to answer your question. We do not know exactly what brand and model the motherboard, storage, and psu are so we can’t really comparison shop each individual part to get a better breakdown of the value, or quantity of those parts. We just have to hope they did the right thing. If you buy it, keep every single warranty document and don’t let the recipient do anything to void the warranty.

DO NOT TAKE 5500. if it was a 5600 it was a good deal perhaps but 5500 will bottleneck the shit out of 6700 in games like last of us or any game with piss poor optimization.

OP, the CPU cooler could be better, and if that’s a glass panel on the front you might want to see if that can come off (but NOT the fans), but other than that it’s a pretty good amount of PC for $700. For sure that’ll handle Roblox, Fortnite and GTA well. Red Dead Redemption II (which I suspect is what he means) will also do pretty well.
Even if the power supply (the “PSU”, Power Supply Unit) and RAM are a bit garbage, the components have low enough power draw that it shouldn’t be a huge issue and the other components are strong enough to make up for it. And that case actually has okay room for expansion!
So, basically, I’d say go for it, especially if you just want to buy it and wrap it up for Christmas without fussing about building one.

I bought something similar for $400, but ended up with only 4 gb GPU, a rx6400, works fine for most of my things, and stuff like Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite.
You could probably get 3060 prebuilt if you shop around for about $100 more, which is better.

I will tell you right off the bat, that pc will run every game your listed at exceptional frame rates, roblox will reach 300+ fps, fortnite 240+ and gta will most likely reach 130+, This is an excellent price and i strongly recommend getting him a quality 120hz monitor with it otherwise you will not be utilizing that pc to its fullest potential. if you want to save a bit and have your son play those games at a lower frame rate i recommend getting him an rog ally, they are going for $450 and will play all the games you listed at 60fps+ and it has a 120hz display.

The Ryzen 5500 is quite a step back from the 5600.

Build your own together. Prebuilts are overpriced garbage and scam. You will have much more fun and along the way save some money building own, also you wont have preinstalled bloatware that eats resources of this already not very powerful cpu. Its like lego and there is a shitload of guides.
